Very hip looking restaurant. Reminded me of my time in Thailand. The food is pretty good but leans a bit on the sweeter side. That being said, solid restaurant and quite authentic. The pad thai and basil chicken were awesome. The service was great. Wish we were a bigger group so we could try a few more items.
Good food but a little bit too salty in some dishes in my opinion. Good atmosphere. I like the decorations filled with the famous old films even my parents were surprised and praised them. I really liked the little metal cup , it made the feeling of being in Thailand.Since I'm not from SF. I'm not so sure what SF was. I asked the waiter which he kindly explained to me. However, my friend who was a local later explained that what he said was not entirely true. So, I wasn't sure if he withheld the information thinking we were all tourists. In general, I don't like the fact that being charged 'SF mandate' , I understand if wanting to improve employees' health benefits and so on, but that shouldn't be from customers' expenses. Employer should be the one taken care of it instead. Also, mine was charged 3%, it seemed to me that this percentage is a random made up number based on one's opinion. why percentage, what it is being based on, if I ordered more food, then I would have to pay more?. Moreover, the SF mandate was added along food orders. Taxes and tips are calculated afterward. Again, this should come from the employer not customer
This place is great. Very fast service. Very friendly staff. When our plates started to get messy, they swapped them out. Been here a few times, they always have the game on and the staff seem to really enjoy watching it.This place is great for parties of 1 to 4. It seems everything comes in sets of four. So if you're planning to eat family style, keep that in mind.My only feedback is, if it starts to get busy, the music feels like it gets louder. So it can get difficult to have conversations.
I am a fan of Thai food. And aí always enjoy trying new restaurants. Saap Ver is a little out of my way, but today I took a walk in China Basin and looked for a Thai restaurant close by. I found this one and decided to order to take out.Their selection is different to the various Thai restaurants of the city. I ordered a chicken and a beef dish. Great quality. Not too oily. The rice was not overcooked.Even though my favorite dessert, sticky rice with mango, is not on their menu, this place is worth to be checked out by anyone who loves Thai food.
Good food but poor customer service. This is the second time we have gone to Saap Ver after the first time experience was terrible, and we need to give them a chance. The customer service was bad as we expected. Their voice sounds rude, and they seem like they do not want to give us service. We didn’t know that the kitchen would be closed from 2.30-5 PM because no one informed us. Then we would like to order a dessert at around 2.40 PM. The woman in the kitchen yelled out loud that did not you know that our kitchen closed at 2.30 PM. I think that they did not know that we understood her language, and we heard it pretty clear that they talked about us. I did not know that the kitchen lady wanted to yell at the server who took an order or yell at us. However, we felt upset about their services.Their food was good but a bit too sweet for everything.
Came here with a couple of friends actually about a month ago (when I was just visiting SF) and only writing reviews now because I’ve finally settled down and remembered how good this place was. I was actually blown away that everything that we ordered for the table were really tasty. Salted Wings, BBQ Pork Wonton Noodle Soup, Crab Fried Rice, (and I think some sort of salad) were all great. I was surprised at how good the BBQ Pork Wonton Noodle Soup was because I was a bit skeptical of the combination when I was just looking at the menu. I also thought the price was relatively reasonable.
Excellent food and service! Love this Thai restaurant!❤️
Visited Saap Ver with a few friends, we didn’t make reservations in advance so had to wait 10ish mins to be seated. Staff was friendly, service was fast. I got the green curry with tofu which was really delicious, loved the flavour - only downside was that the vegetables were cut too big (like big chunks). Other than that, good presentation was great, atmosphere was fun. Price is $$-$$$. Definitely recommend!
One of the best Thai food in town. Did lunch and dinner here a couple of times and we also did a catering for our wedding party and all our guests loved their food. Salted wings and thai herbal sausages go so well with beer. Som tam and yumeunsen(glass noodle), and padseew beef are also great.
We love this restaurant! Good Thai food
