I got the Porcetta Sandwich. Waited in line for ~50 minutes. I felt the sandwich was ok. The pork itself was crispy, but it had random bites of saltiness that made it not great.
They refuse to accept cash as payment. Unfortunately there is a loophole in San Francisco's "Acceptance of Cash" law that allows food trucks to dodge the law. Deeply disappointing to see an otherwise high quality establishment swing so hard in a deeply discriminatory direction.Remember kids: "No Cash Accepted" is just code for "No Poor People Allowed". It's an objective fact that the poor, disabled, elderly, and minorities are vastly more likely to be "underbanked" and therefore rely upon cash for their day-to-day needs. "No Cash Accepted" is inherently discriminatory, and to claim otherwise is deeply disingenuous at best.
This porchetta sandwich is literally god tier, like One Punch Man-ed all the other sandwiches that exist in this world. I think the line was almost an hour long for these at the farmer’s market - that’s how popular and amazing this was. The porchetta was so juicy and tender, the carmelized onions were perfectly jammy and oniony, and the bitter arugula was just fresh and a perfect combo with everything!! Just WOW. Can yall come to Toronto please?? If I could choose my last meal it would be this sandwich. Seriously.
Great sandwiches!! They were super tasty! I really recommend this place!
Has Roli lost a step?I’ve eaten the porchetta samich since 2012. This last time in March 2022, the product looks the same but the spark is gone. Super salty and bitter from burned bits (not the baby arugula). And like another review said - I couldn’t taste the pork nor fennel. Even the onion marmalade was flat. I also didn’t get any of the pork fat typically rubbed onto the bread, (the lack thereof) makes for dry, bready bites. Not sure how this samich can compete w my other fave - the bánh mì.It’s a shame. I hope I’m not remembering things as they never were.
These guys are the best! Their meat is the great quality, always fresh and grilled well, smells delicious (ribs are my favorite).I would like to thank Edison for being the soul of the team, always friendly and kind to others!
Protip: ask them to scoop out some of the bread from the roll. I think it makes the ratios better and less carb crash.I pass RR every Saturday but the line is always insanely long. I was lucky to catch them without a line early this Week and was shocked at how good the sandwich was. I’ll definitely be coming back for more when the line is not long. Love the sandwich not the hype!
40 minute wait for overly seasoned chicken and uncooked potatoes greasy potatoes. Yeah I think I'll pass next time . Sandwich would have been the better option.
The sandwiches here are great, especially for meat lovers! You get a good interplay of textures with the porchetta (made from pork belly). We waited in line for half an hour, but it was worth it. My kid really enjoyed it, to my surprise. She's usually fussy with unfamiliar food, but she ended up gobbling up my sandwich. Priced well for the great quality you get. It's worth a visit if you are in the area. They only accept debit/credit.
