The last time I ate here was 22 years ago and it was the best then and it hasn't changed one bit. The double cheeseburger in an ever so fresh roll with fresh crisp lettuce, pickles, and diced onions was as delicious as I remembered. When in SF you miss out if you don't go to Red's.

Bacon wrapped hot dogs, a great invention we should all enjoy. Some family members bragged on this place so I went to see what's up. The place isn't that big but the food makes up for it. I had the Red's Java House and fries. The bacon wrapped dog was great. I don't know what bread they use but it was good by itself. Overall, great meal. Will go back.
I love everything about this place that has carefully curated its farm house (shack) grittiness for many many years. Chewy (not crunchy) sourdough hamburger bun with lots of cheese and mustard, and pickles. Sourdough flavor with the mustard is a great combination. Fries are basic and perfectly crispy. Sit on the pier and drink draught beer--they always have solid beer options on tap (though there might be limited hours for the beer sold on the patio?). Breakfast sandwich and the huevos rancheros are good, but the breakfast otherwise isn't very inspired and it's been a while but I recall the salsa being from a jar, but I occasionally get quick breakfast anyway if bicycle to work super early.
A Tasty and unique way to serve burgers. Served in a soft sourdough roll. Cheap and cheerful with friendly service.
Interesting historical spot with a lot of character. The food was cheap but not very good - my pancake tasted like it was made from a mix and the eggs were a bit overdone. It was also pretty cold in there on a chilly day.
Come for the buns stay for the mustard.Delicious one of a kind burger on a thin sourdough like roll. Absolutely delicious burger.
It is exactly what it looks like. A place to get a fast, cheap burger & beer. And eat it while enjoying the ocean air and the bay bridge.Oh, and the burger is served on a *sourdough* bun - nice!
