Takoyaki is great!! The bun with fried chicken is very wired. Basically I ate the chicken and bun+veggies separately. Not recommended. The ramen has generous portion of meat, but the bamboo shoot and egg etc are cold…it’s a legit Raman but not good. The dessert is a bit burnt but a little raw on the inside.
Ramen Yamada is tucked away on the second floor next to Shabu Sen. This ramen spot is a simple setup. We ordered their signature “Yamadaya” ramen which is their black garlic noodles. The broth was definitely flavorful but the essence wasn’t absorbed by the noodles. The pork wasn’t what I’m used to. It didn’t taste like other braised pork belly I’m used to but I guess you can say it’s Yamadaya style. There was chashu too but it didn’t stand out as much. The egg was on the overcooked side (majority of us likes it to be soft and runny. I know I didn’t say a lot of good things but overall the service was fast… the crowd was good.. the food wasn’t terrible. My go-to ramen in this area is still Marufuku.
It's good enough Japanese style food compared to the other places in the United States. The price is acceptable
The broth is very bland and watery. Tastes like a soup mix blended with hot water. No deep flavor to it at all. Reviews here that tell you otherwise haven’t had authentic ramen before. Ate here once in 2018, was disappointed, ate here again this year, and was again disappointed. Will not be revisiting.
This place does Ramen right. The Black Garlic is the heavy hitter on the menu. Service is good but can be a bit hectic around dinner rush. It is also quite loud in the main dinning room.
very good tonkotsu Ramen?
This place' s been in business for a long time and it's my first time coming here. I had Takoyaki and Kara Miso Ramen medium level of spiciness. I would have to say the quality was alright. Plus they calculated the tip along with tax, which is not fair for me to pay tip on tax. They need to change it to charging the tips from the subtotal.
Amazing ambiance around the center-piece table that seats 12 people. Me and my friends were looking for a table of 12 at 6 and that had it available on a Saturday night. The habanero karage (chicken) packed a lasting, impressive spiciness that lasts. The only neutralizer was the hot-level spicy Kara Miso below, which came with broth good enough to finish the entire bowl.
Delicious ramen. Vegetarian option available with delicious spinach noodles.
I've been here several times before, and it's always delicious. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are always a treat. Unfortunately, this latest journey had a small issue- the soft boiled egg was WAYYYYY overcooked; the yolk was positively solid and chalky. I was the first sit down customer of the night, I assume I got an egg that had been sitting in the boiler for too long. Previous experience indicates that this is an anomaly, though, so it still gets five stars in my book.
