We finally were able to get back to the Pied Piper and it was as fantastic as always! The truffle fries are simple, but very good, and their wine selection has improved considerably since our last visit - Rombauer Chardonnay and Veuve Clicquot by the glass! It was much quieter this time around, and we had no problems finding seating at any time we visited. The Pied Piper painting is stunning to look at while enjoying the ambiance of the rest of the room. Timeless and elegant!
I had my birthday dinner 2 nights ago there with my family. Everything was good and the lady who served our table was very kind to prepare a beautiful birthday cake for me.
A great place for drinks towards the end of a long day in San Francisco! Still a grand experience in an extraordinary space. We only had drinks, but the food looks amazing.
Slow service and rude waiter…We went back because the hotel doesn’t have room service and Ria was our waiter. She was truly attentive and thoroughly professional. She entirely changed our opinion of the restaurant! Edited from 1 star. Had she served us from the outset, this would have been 5 stars for service alone! Great burgers and the fries with truffle sauce is a win all day long!
Fantastic bar / restaurant in a historic hotel. Joel is an institution and one of the best bartenders (mixologist) in the game. Have one of his old fashions and thank me later.
Iconic!San Francisco history at it's best, the Pied Piper Lounge has greater locals and visitors alike for 110+ years since opening in 1909. Maxwell Parish's "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" hangs over the bar. Drinks are perfectly crafted. Light appetizers delicious. This is a great place to start you tours of SF, or to meet friends on a Friday and start your weekend.
My husband and I came for drinks and appetizers and were disappointed. The drinks were good and the service was good. The menu selection and food we ordered not so much. We ordered the chaucerterie board and it was definitely lacking. The bread was dry and not even toasted or anything special and the chaucerterie was just meat, pickles and mustard. It felt like they just threw some deli meat on a a plate. No effort made. I have had many chaucerterie boards in the past and usually they come with cheese and the bread is toasted or their is crackers. The manager and waiter were very kind and took it off the check which is why I gave it two stars.
CAUTION!! This place does NOT check for vaccine cards so if you're looking for a safe place to have a cocktail, this is not it. No hostess stand to check people. Also, ever since Marriott took over, food is subpar. Love having cocktails with kids around -not.
We had drinks here prior to going to dinner and also drinks and dinner here before heading to the airport. The staff is awesome-friendly and attentive! Loved the burger and extra, extra dry gin martinis in the beautiful historic space.
Had a lovely dinner. Service was great. Will come back for drinks/food.
