I'm personally a fan. Sure, this place is very pricey for some (according to my latinx friends) not authentic place, but it's still delicious and fun. Everyone working here is so cheerful and friendly. The food is delicious and creative. It's just overall very vibey. Maybe consider eating here to just treat yourself and enjoy your time. I've seen birthdays here, dates, locals, and more.Enjoy!

The quesadillas here are great. I didn’t see a chicken quesadilla on the menu, but asked the server to just replace the steak in the carne asada quesadilla, which the restaurant kindly accommodated.I would give the quesadilla a 4.5/5! It’s a great portion, the tortilla was slightly crispy at the edges, and it has everything (avocado, sour cream, cheese, protein) but was not too overwhelming or salty.

Mind blowing food!! And amazing people. Very welcoming, give great advised on food, very attentive. End Margaritas, wow! Enjoyed every single bit of it. Thank you!

Delicious street tacos from the duck to carnitasCocktails & tacos make excellent combinationsHang out at this sunny parklet in the Hayes Valley. Service was friendly & efficient

Great staff. Met the owner, wonderful family man!

Decent, fun mid-shelf Mexican place it Hayes- famous for their fried chicken burrito! I got their tacos, which I thought were pretty solid. Also they’ve got some good looking margaritas on their menu- went with the charred jalapeño which had quite the kicker

Met up with an old friend here, looking for a bougie Mexican experience. Papito fit the bill nicely. The duck confit taco sounded ridiculous so I had to order it. It was good but I wish there had been a bit more of the crunchy skin. The chorizo taco I had was quite delicious. My friend and both enjoyed all our food, but if I’m being picky I would say that the flavour profile tended towards a more mild and sweet taste than I generally prefer. For the chips and salsa, the chips were nicely fried as they should be, and we enjoyed two out of three salsas. The third salsa was this fruity substance, which she called “mango syrup” and I called “watery jam”. Maybe other people will like that more?Service was excellent, and we were both impressed by the portion and quality of the tequila shots we were served (this was sipping grade tequila; no plastic bottle regrets here!).In the Hayes Valley ecosystem, Papito Hayes seems like it has evolved to fill a certain ecological niche: dispensing quality drinks and Mexican fare with a variety of interesting ingredients and deviations from your standard taqueria in a kinda posh but not stuffy setting. In other words it provides a bougie, if somewhat subdued, Mexican experience. It isn’t your favourite local taco truck and it is not trying to be. My friend and I were quite satisfied and I imagine many people will be as well.

Very good restaurant, we really liked it.Service was fast

Really good food. We tried the enchilada and tacos. They were quite good.

Great tacos and margaritas. Try the Pollo-fried chicken, and bajataco
