Dim Sum Seafood Cantonese

An interesting take on Cantonese dim sum. Note, don't be surprised by the expensive prices or small portions as it is in Ghirardelli Square, but yes it will be more than you expect. You just have to check the items you have to order off the menu and that's pretty self explanatory. The food was all a bit spicier than you'd expect but pretty good. Service was attentive and for parties of 4+, mandatory 18% tip. If you're in the area, make a reservation and give it a try but I'd rather have gone elsewhere.

Well, that was fabulous…the food exceeded expectations. Large portion sizes (by British standards) and we ordered the Wagyu beef fried rice (beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked rice with flavourful beef), sweet and sour chicken (delicious plum and hawthorn sauce with pineapple), sichuan seafood dumpling and a peppered beef bao. The ipa was good and my cocktail was gorgeous. Best meal in San Francisco so far…

This is my favorite restaurant in Fisherman’s Wharf! It’s right at the center of Ghiradelli Square and has such an amazing view. We started with their hot green tea which made me feel all cozy inside. Then we got their soup dumpling assortment! It came in these beautiful dumpling spoons perfect for a whole bite. The crispy duck was probably my favorite. It tasted so good and hot!The veggies were good, but I would’ve preferred getting a different side dish that was even better. The vibe is so chill and inside they even have live seafood you can see! Definitely worth the visit

Yes we had to wait even for a seat at the bar which was a tad chilly and yes they are expensive but it is soooo worth it!! Best dumplings ever!!! The Lobster Dumplings with Butter sauce come with a tiny squirt bottle filled with the hot butter you inject into each Lobster dumplings. To die for!!!! We also got a few other type of dumplings and all were fantastic! Stop and eat!!

There was a long queue at the door but we waited patiently until a table was ready for our group. Waiting was in our favor that we had enough time to look at the online menu so that as soon as we were seated, we placed our orders right away. The foods arrived at reasonable wait time, the staffs were helpful and mindful and all the dishes were served piping hot and they all tasted flavorful. There's also complimentary wifi. Bill for a party of 4 with huge appetite: $$$ ?

The food was bland at best and the service was mediocre. My wife and I went because we heard it good, we waited and hour to be seated. This is understandable due to us not having a reservation and the restaurant being a tourist destination. When We got seated, we were explained how it worked. This is when it starts to go down hill, We did not have interaction with the servers for 15 minutes, we then had to call the server every time we needed something( the waiter never checking on us). This would have been okay if that's how the service was however they would be like clock work on the 2 neighboring tables asking them what they needed and refilling their water without then asking. We got our food and I asked for chili oil... 10 minutes later no chili oil .. the server forgot.. again the neighboring tables got their sauces when they asked. 135 dollars later for 2 people.. we left disappointed and wanting to never return. We love this type of food however I feel very let down by the quality and service.

Good dumplings

May 2022:Enjoyed a birthday lunch here. Was super excited to try this new dim sum house. Tried a lot of"non standards". My favorites were the roasted pork belly and the sea bass dumpling. The xio lung bao was good. We got the five piece combo that came in five different colors. Big and juicy! ? Pea sprouts were cooked perfectly with garlic and salt ! Cucumber salad was pretty good. Like how they smash the cucumber so the marinade soaks in.Abalone sticky rice was tasty but there were only two small pieces of abalone. Not sure if it is worth getting again ☹️.For dessert, we tried the Portuguese tarts ?. Very tasty and I could eat many more than I should ?.Tea and service was great. Pricey lunch but since it was my birthday, it's was well worth the treat! Would definitely come back again to try more delicious dim sum.

I met couple of my friends here for Sunday Dim Sum. We decided on Palette Tea House based on the reviews across social media and the innovative approach in their dishes. It was a last minute decision and we had no reservations (which is recommended) however we decided to give it a try anyway arriving 5-minutes before opening. 20 people were already in line but we also noticed the interior was large enough for lots more. The line moved quickly and we were seated 5 minutes after opening! Lucky? We started with cocktails which were definitely high quality and mixed well. I loved The Painted Lady. My dining companions enjoyed their drinks as well. We added Jasmine Tea for the Dim Sum. We ordered enough to feed all three of us, but for me, the Wagyu Beef Chow Fun and the XLB soup dumplings (IG worthy) stood out the most. Look at my pics for all we ordered.Pricier than traditional Dim Sum restaurants, but everything was executed well, service was great, atmosphere was nice, and best part we all left happy. A great spot to celebrate.

Haven't had such high quality dim sum for a long while. Can't believe I found this restaurant this late. Usually when we dim sum, we rarely order alchohol, but the cocktail here is so delicious that jack up my dim sum price. No complaint. Worth it. There so many dishes I want to try. Definitely will come back for more.
