Coming from Dubai where Pakistani food is thriving I had high expectations! They were all met! Pakwan offers authentic and fragrant dishes that are just mouthwatering. Dishes are spiced to perfection and accompanied with fresh garnish.Great place to go with friends and share different food.

Far and away the best Indian/Pakistani food in the Mission, maybe in the city. Unbeatable value, it’s just always great, and the service is incredible. They don’t sell beer/wine, so bring your own or buy some at K&D across the street, and don’t skip the rice pudding!
This was my second visit to Pakwaan the first being in the pre covid times (2019) I have tasted their vegetable biryani,dal,a paneer preparation and raita and have never been dissapointed.If you are missing Indian food this is the place to go to! Generous portions and yummy taste.The chutneys they serve on the side add more flavour to the preparations for sure Thank you Pakwaan for being my saviour in Sf:)
This is easily the best Pakistani/Indian food I’ve ever had. The karahi chicken is just incredible, with a perfect heat level. It’s just spiced in exactly the right way. I need to learn to make this, but I worry I’ll just disappoint myself. This is 100% a must-stop for me in SF.
An overhyped restaurant. Biriyani that was served wasn’t biriyani at all. It could be pilaf or pulao, but not biriyani.
Freshly made Naam bread! They make it when you order it! The food was delicious and authentic. We ordered the lamb, beef and a chicken dish. For dessert we had the rice pudding and the sweet dumplings. There were plenty of take out orders! It was impressive to see them in action. Having freshly made garlic Naam bread was such a treat!
Amazing food!! Portions are very decent size for the price. I love the tandoori grill items, very tender.
Delicious and big portion with reasonable price.
They did not let us order outside or did not give us a mask while the server was not wearing a mask inside either. Very disrespectful.
