One of the best places to try Indian food. The gravy is perfect and the masalas r in the right portion. Get their garlic naan. They do have dine-in but it is self service.Vegetarian options: Veg biryani is one of the best u will get in SF. garlic naan is also good. The paneer is not soft enough but not bad.
I love Pakwan in the mission. My mister and I tried this location on a Sunday afternoon. It was empty but the food is still super tasty. There were some homeless people coming in and I believe they give them containers of rice and other leftover food for free which is very nice, especially considering the area this location is located. The food is tasty just like the mission location.
I visited Pakwan last night for Dinner which situated on 501 O Farrell St. i ordered Garlic naan , Tandoori fish , and Chana masala( Chickpea). All items were so very delicious and tasty i can't explain more. Its one of the best taste i had tasted in America. i travelled whole world, i am foody. But This food was best ever from any restaurent. Dinning arrangement here is just normal and simple not high level. But food is Awesome ! Person on reception is very nice guy named AARSH Service is very good. Must Must Visit Restaurent . i will give 9/10 Rating.Features: Covid safety practices are just normal as on other restaurents. Vegetarian options: 3-4 Good vegeterian option available here.
O e day I will write something to even come close to the experience few days ago when a person gave me a biryani which was great but the mango lassi was so profound that I inhaled it in one breath. I was almost in tears it was that good.. 7.6 out of 5 for world's best mango lassie at Indian/pak business house. San Francisco podworker review.
Love the location in the Mission. Stopped by here with my partner and we had the samosa, tandoori chicken, and beef nihari. The samosa and chicken were phenomenal as always. The beef nihari made both of us physically sick. Will not be revisiting this location.
We ordered chicken karai and nihari. It was the worst ever. They had curry ready and they just put boiled chicken on top of that and served it. I never had nihari like what I had. No taste, seemed like eating regular curry with meat in it. And on top of that it was cold. Asked for tea gave one cup which at the end and were told sorry we are out. The tea was warm which suppose to be hot. This was the worst experience I ever had in my favorite restaurant.
Went here or dinner, luckily it wasn't very crowded and got our order in 10 min.We had paneer Tikka Masala, nan and tandoor roti. Paneer Tikka Masala taste was good but paneer was fried unevenly and some pieces were hard. Garlic naan was very good. Tandoor roti was made from wheat, so a little try and hard compared to the one with all purpose flour.Overall a good place for Indian food.
The Saag Daal Lentil Soup was amazing. I love love loved it. I’m not from San Fran but am definitely coming back to this joint the next time I visit. Food was scrumptious.
Just left this place. Firstly, the service was mediocre. The lady who works there is rude and had a long face the whole time. She stared at customers weirdly. It’s interesting- do they not teach customer service skills in this place?! They asked us for our vaccination cards which was okay until other people came in and ordered to eat in but were not asked for their vaccination cards. Extremely unprofessional and distasteful behavior for a business. This unfair treatment depending on who the customer is is unacceptable. The food is eh. Nothing special. Garlic naan was ok. There are many Halal and halal Indian/Pakistani restaurants closeby. You’d probably be better off going to another place. The restaurant itself is quite small and cramped but that’s not a problem unless you’re with a stroller or perhaps wheelchair. The place smelled of grease which still lingers on my clothes and in my nose although we’ve been gone for 20 minutes already. Overall it was mediocre and I wouldn’t recommend.
The food is delicious. The chefs are skilled. This store is always missing an experienced and competent accountant. When ordering food t.go. Give him a spoon. gives napkin.??
