Inexpensive quick Cantonese food. Looking for a quick bowl of wonton noodles soup or pan fried noodles while walking along Stockton in Chinatown. Long communal table dominates the narrow space.
If you’re in Chinatown looking for cheap and tasty food after dim sum hours, look no farther than this restaurant! I’ve passed by this location almost daily as a kid but I’ve never ventured inside until today. I ordered takeout beef chow fun (personal preference over chow mein) and wonton noodle soup. The portion size is really respectable. The beef chow fun had decent protein to carb ratio. I didn’t get the feeling I was being scammed. The wonton noodle soup uses chinese cabbage instead of bok choy but no issues there. Definitely recommend this place.. don’t forget to support local business and tip when you can!On a side note, if you require milk tea with your meal there are a lot of options in Chinatown.
The food here was fantastic. Yesterday my wife and I ate at a different location for lunch, ordered the same stuff and had a completely different experience. Today, the food was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and great portions. We’re on vacation from Alaska and the Beef stew here tastes about the same as Charlie’s Chinese Restaurant and Bakery back home, but the amount of beef they give you here was about 200% more. My brother from San Diego recommended this place and I couldn’t agree more.
Delicious food that arrived piping hot! We split the wonton soup, peppered pork chops, and beef chow mein (with thick noodles).Wontons were pork and shrimp, large and very juicy. They ran out of chow fun when we arrived, but I’m very glad for the servers recommendation (the pork chops), and the chops arrived well spiced, fried crispy. Chow mein was good, with tender beef and noodles with a good bite to them. Standard jasmine tea comes with meals. There is enough indoor seating for around 20-24 people, and it was about half filled when we arrived a Sunday afternoon. For a total of around $30 for two, definitely will come again for a casual lunch or dinner.
This restaurant is more of a hidden gem in Chinatown.Located 100 feet from the Stockton Street tunnel it serves simply wonderful comfort food.Porridge, won ton soup, chow mein, chow fun and a variety of rice plates and stand alone family style entries. The Mongolian beef is a standard crowd pleaser, and so are the shrimp chow mein made with thin noodles and the Singapore fried curry rice stick noodles. The prices are reasonable as are the portions. You can request carry out cartons if you ordered too much. All the chow mein dishes and the won ton soup without noodles are best warmed up the next day.Believe me.I'm not going to steer you in the wrong direction.
Very inexpensive and quick. I had the wonton noodle soup with egg noodles, and it was very nice. The wontons were delicious. Perfect for my hangover.
Food was fantastic!! We ordered their wonton soup, house special fried rice, house special chow mein, and black pepper pork chops. Wonton were super flavorful. Chow mein was delicious. Fried rice was nice and light. The black pepper pork chops were delicious, but fighting with bone was a little annoying.
Small place, decent food and fast service. Loved the wonton soup, could share a bowl among three people
Dinning in, food is served family style, portions are big. Food comes out of the kitchen quickly fresh and hot.
Huge menu my friends got Wontu soup and they said it was great! I got mixed vegetables pan fried noodles with chicken. They served hot tea for free! Overall excellent
