I tried Thai food few times. But it was first time to try that food I forgot the name.Decoration and taste was unique.I am not used to that taste but it was not bad.
Visited here for a family lunch during our visit to Golden gate Park. Located very close to SF botanical garden. Even though restaurant was busy, we were able to get table quickly. We ordered Chicken Satay with lettuce wrap, Green Curry, Roti Parata, Basil Chicken, Pad Ke Mao and Tofu Red curry. All items were very tasty, specially liked the Satay with Lettuce Wrap, this was something different from other Thai restaurants. Service was pretty good too. Restrooms were well maintained. Check it out if you are in the area!
The Red Curry (I think it was called Dang Kang) was absolutely delicious. I would totally come back to this restaurant.
If you notice, the reviews have slide Down Hill this year. The good reviews are from several years ago.I feel badly about writing a negative review for Marnee Thai, but I need to be honest. The Marnee on 9th Ave. must have a different chief. The one on 24th St. and Lincoln Way was not good. My husband and I didn't even eat the food. I ordered the same thing I always order from 9th Ave Marnee and it wasn't even the same dish. Dry, tasteless and so Not Marnee. We sworn as we left, that we would never go back. The service was poor. The waiter didn't even ask us if we liked our food. They staff caters to TAKE OUT and the customers eating inside are cold since the required door is open and not waited on in a timely manner.Again, I know, this is Marnee. We have lived in the City for 40 years and I am so disappointed.I can not recommend this location.
Great appetizer!
Craving for thai?? I recommend Marnees!!! I've been to a few places in the city but I think Marnee's takes the cake. Their portions are humungous and such great value for such Superb Thai cuisine, All dishes are out of thus world, I live in Fremont, so so worth the drive, Pad see ew was yummy but could've used a little more sauce. My absolute favorite dish was the pad thai - classic dish done so perfectly... Super friendly service and cute ambiance inside! We will go bank every week,
Has a good selection of Thai dishes outside the standard set of pad Thai and curries. They're also very nice. Also has a broad collection of alcohols including wine and sake. Honestly, it's catering a bit to wealthier San Franciscan who want to experience exotic cultures but who still, honestly, cannot handle their spice. If you want a nice night out and to try something new but still have a glass of wine, then it's great and you'll love it.If you're really looking for those rich complex Thai flavors that knock you away, then it's not really here. Maybe if you look Thai, but I look white and they asked me if I can handle spicy food after I ordered. Not once, anywhere, ever, has anyone ever made me spicy food with all the traditional nuance and complexity after asking me if I could handle spicy food. So while I'm glad there's a restaurant offering these dishes that can't be found anywhere else in the bay, I cant recommend the flavors for the prices.
Duck salad is unique and tasty. Other dishes are good. A bit pricy. Close to 30 dollars per person
Nice Thai place with a good selection of food and drinks. Great service as well. It’s small so can get busy quickly. We ordered Pad Thai, their vegetarian special and sticky rice with mango pudding. Loved the food - the Pad Thai could’ve benefited from some more tofu. The wine didn’t taste great but that could just be down to selection or my taste.
Horrible service and worst off the food is also not tasty when compared to other Thai restaurants. I tried this place for the first time and the ladies who work there are not only rude they always act as if they don’t understand questions that are being asked concerning the menu items. When I finally got my food which by the way took almost 25 minutes it was cold and very salty. Never eating there again. If you really want good Thai food I would travel to Alameda and try Toomies, best I have tried so far and worth the drive. Marnee Thai is the worst I’ve had so far.
