San Francisco has a serious sandwich problem. It's not just the salami hanging from above, or wheels of cheese weighing down shelves; everyone loves one special at this old-school Italian deli that started in 1929 and is still going strong after 80 years! Some favorites include their #1 Italian Combo with prosciutto ham mortadella & provolone cheeses (your choice of meat), Pat Burrell roast beef piled high on top pepper jack cheese - also available vegetarian-style if needed--and more perfect Yelp reviews than you could ever imagine possible...

Tuna Salad better than Chicken Parm - having grown up in an Italian neighborhood back east, and being highly recommended this spot, I was a little disappointed. I feel this was the San Francisco version of an Italian deli. While the selection was plentiful, it lacked what I'm used to. Would I recommend people giving this place a shot? Sure, but set your expectations before you go there.

Small place cold inside with 9 seats inside and 3 outside. The food is fresh with homemade pasta and sauces. Service is great with lots of cooks working. All the time. The only problem is the very limited seating and only a few parking spaces. Best to order to go.

Had tons of Italian Imports and Homemade sauces. Great sandwiches. Bread is heavenly

Fantastic sandwiches. It’s always busy. Do yourself a favor and order online so you don’t have to wait. Just give your name when you enter and you’re good to go. See the photo for specials

Caprese with prosciutto and the veggie sandwich. Both were delicious. Fresh. Large enough to share

Best sandwich I've ever had. And, as a middle class white dude, I've eaten a lot of sandwiches.

This place makes the best subs. They’re packed full of meat and condiments on quality bread. Makes my mouth water. Follow my dog for more @paco.elperro :)
