Food is great and the space is unique, I donât think this place is for everybody but itâs certainly a experience. Reservations probably not needed
let's be real: the food was mediocre. I've heard it was better before the pandemic but come on, you gotta do better than what was served to us. we went somewhere else after to eat food that was appropriate for the price point.
Little Baobab is a fun West African Restaurant with live music in the Mission District! They feature local musicians they play songs from around the world. Last night (Wednesday at 8:30pm) they had a live band playing Afro beats and salsa! Lots of people went up to dance. The food was also amazing. We ordered the Chicken Yassa (chicken with caramalized onion), Lamb Dibi Combo (grilled lamb) and Beef Pastelles (fried plantains). The owner, Marco, was super friendly and recommended the best dishes! Our server, Koudous was awesome too. We had a great experience!
Great atmosphereWent with a friend and they had live salsaAmazing!
There was live music and people that I'm sure as a result we're staying at their tables longer than expected. The owner of the restaurant brought out a table and chairs for us so that we could sit inside and listen to the music. Overall just a phenomenal venue owned by wonderful people and operated by a lovely staff. I will be going back here again… This is a gem of a restaurant
Super dining experience. Marco, the owner, is top notch. Took my husband here for his birthday and neither of us had been to an African restaurant before and Marco helped us order a platter that was perfect to try several of the authentic dishes. They were delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try some more.
This place has been a family favorite for years every time we stop by in SF. I came with a group of friends and I was beyond impressed with the service because of the language barrier. But the waiters were fantastic. We ordered a bunch of dishes and I got the platter of veggies. I know that the last time I was here, I had some Doro wot but now that I'm a vegan, it was even better. Although the taste was alittle different than what I was used to tasting before, no complains yall! Adding the brebre and some other spices made the whole dish 10x better.
Great food and fun! I have so many years of fond memories of live performances and great music at Baobab!
Wonderful bohemian ambiance, festive, cultural. The African cuisine was great and homey, the owner Marco was the greatest. Music was fantastic too. A true Mission hidden gem, for years!!!
