We always have an amazing dinner experience at Le Colonial. The food is fabulous and the service is excellent. What more can you ask for? Many restaurants in San Francisco can't come close.

What a beautiful place to celebrate my birthday! The building is down a little alley, tucked back behind the street so it has a quiet and peaceful vibe, like a hidden treasure. There is a parking lot right there, so it's super easy to access. You walk through their sunlight garden dining area to the host stand in their candlelit interior dining area, which is full of antique mirrors, carved wooden art, and historic touches. Upstairs is a bar and lounge with wooden carved room dividers and low couches and tables, with a balcony open to the garden area. I can imagine spending hours grazing on appetizers and sipping on fine cocktails. We ate in the dining area, which was quiet and peaceful. The food is stellar and interesting, delivered hot and with special instructions about how to best enjoy it. We mistimed our dinner and our next event, so we needed to leave between the appetizers and dinner, but the staff was kind enough to box everything up for us to enjoy later. They overheard that it was my birthday and offered a piece of delicious cheesecake with a candle to enjoy while we waited for our boxes. I can say that the food is excellent even as leftovers, we enjoyed the rest of it later that night! We were so impressed by the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff, ambiance, and quality of the food, so we highly recommend and will definitely be returning ourselves!

Le Colonial has a special place in my heart and glad to know they’re food is still top quality :)

The portobello spring roll and the special sturgeon and green banana stew were both full of flavor with unusual use of ingredients. Service was perfectly attentive to match the gently breezy and classy outdoor tablecloth setups. We'll be coming back, no doubt.

Beautiful restaurant once you walk inside the building, but the small street leading to the restaurant is horrendous, dirty, full of garbage and a few homeless along the side. Quite sad to see why the city is not taking care of the situation. Service is excellent, food comes in big portion, best for family style sharing. Generally speaking it was very good. However the crispy pork belly skin was not crispy but chewy. The crepe w lobster had very little lobster inside.

Everything was delicious and great flavors!

It had been several years since I'd been here, but I was happy to see that the menu is still interesting and service was great. Plus it's a lovely ambiance in a location that feels tucked away in the middle of the city.

This was an amazing experience. Old Timey wait staff that actually pays attention to what you are doing and doesn't interrupt conversation! Food was exceptional. Service was exceptional, ambiance was terrific.

Haven’t been here in years and the food and atmosphere was just as good as I remember- and hoped it would be. The beef cubes are amazing! And the waiter was very attentive and had a great sense of humor!

. Appetizers are amazing in taste and presentation.
