Liked the beer, atmosphere, and service! The Rueben was drier than I am used to, but good.
Wonderful relaxing Irish pub! Spectacular service and exceptional staff. Stop in you will not be disappointed!?
Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came... that's Irish Times. My favorite place to drink after work (I work a few blocks away). I have to pass a few other bars but it's worth the walk. Every time. They never disappoint. If you want a cold beer and a warm smile this is the place for you.
Watched game 5 of the NBA finals with friends here and had a great time. I thought it would be more crowded but we got a table and it never felt to crowded.
As previous reviews, there was a good range of drinks, although we didn’t eat. The pub was a nice enough place, although not overly full, so was nice to sit at the bar and have a conversation, whilst being served by a nice enough lady, who was kind enough to take our photograph. We had a couple of drinks and paid our tab, which was when there was a change in demeanour of the bartender. As she rang the money through the til, I saw her turn and look at us, then turn back to the money she had in her hand - I know we’d left her a tip, so wondered why the sudden icy cold exchange. We left the bar and stood outside to get our bearings, at which point, our party was surprised by the ranting female bartender, shouting at us, that they survived on tips, and as quickly as she appeared, she was gone. In all my years travelling, I have never encountered such a rude and aggressive young lady. We have definitely been to more appealing and welcoming bars, so will not be recommending or returning to this one!
Having worked both blue and white collar jobs in the City, as well as being born and raised here, I can definitely say there is a reason the Irish Times is more popular with locals than the place up the block. The Irish Times has great bartenders, great waitstaff and unpretentious locals.THIS PLACE IS REAL SF.If you are in the area and wish to experience an authentic Irish San Francisco bar where you will have good food and drinks and will not be judged, look no further. Go to the Irish Times.
the service is very slow in the hall there are only two people working, we waited for the menu for about 15 minutes then the food came and we waited for the check for about 20 minutes and no one came up to us! in this restaurant, if you yourself don’t ask anyone, you will sit and wait .... no one offered us water initially and we had to wait for some time to catch the waiter and ask for water. they also don't have a drinks menu, or rather, it is on the wall ... on the positive side - they have a good bartender woman, she told us about the drinks and made them pretty quickly. Very tasty food and drinks that could not but please. As for the atmosphere, the hall and restroom are quite pleasantly decorated. the women's restroom was clean and decorated with beautiful paintings.
Great Irish bar in downtown SF.
