Overpriced! Quality is on par with subway, Jersey Mike’s, Quiznos, but you’re paying upscale deli prices. Should have read the reviews before, they tricked me once, but I’ll surely never make this mistake again.
Delicious sandwiches. That's about it... The man working there simply was not interested in helping us. We wanted to sit down and eat there (there was one other occupied table), but they told us that the majority of the restaurant was closed because they had already mopped it for the day (3hrs before closing time). We also asked for a glass of water and was told "wr don't have that at the moment", after seeing them give the people at the other table a glass of water.
Ike's sandwiches will always be my #1 sandwich spot in SF, it never disappoints no matter how many time I come back and the service is always great.
It's called Ike's Love & Sandwiches, but I was shown no love today when trying to get a Damon Bruce. I placed an order to dine in, sandwich and a bag of chips. After noticing customers who ordered after me getting my food, I tried to ask the cashier who took my order about the status of my order, he straight up ignored me. We can just call him Brown Hat, since that is what he wore (Shift Lead-P, is what my ticket called him). He didn't look up at me and wouldn't acknowledge me standing 3 feet from him. Then I tried to ask the manager on duty, Pony tail with a gold chain, he also took a phone call and ran off. Didn't want to talk to me. So, I had to awkwardly wait at the counter to make myself known. And wouldn't you know, now they wanted to pay attention. So, they checked the to go order rack and my order had been waiting for 10 minutes. No one told me it was ready and I had to go up and find out myself, who knows if they would have ever told me themselves! It was packaged with BBQ chips, now I know they really weren’t paying attention! I ordered at 3:53PM, was promised my order at 4:00PM and didn't get it until 4:10PM. Please look at my receipt.What really bothered me was noticing another customer doing the same thing I was. Going to the counter to retrieve their dine in order. It sucks! Having to follow up on your order. The store is SO FOCUSED on DoorDash and UberEats, they package everything as a to go order. The food was good, but staff is preoccupied and will not pay attention to Dine In patrons. They are losing their culture to the big tech bros, just focused on Mobile App purchases/to go orders, so sad!! I hate being that guy, but this staff needs to pay closer attention.
I love Ike’s. Been a fan a long time but watching their staff check their phones with gloves on before then touching all the food and making my sandwich isn’t sanitary at all. It’s okay to check you phone but change your gloves phones are very dirty
Ike was present when I picked up my sandwich, he looks over every aspect of the business, sandwich.He treats everyone that comes through the door as family.Excellent sandwiches.
My favorite sandwich shop, which I regularly order from. The Dutch crunch and sourdough breads are delicious but the whole wheat is also surprisingly good so it's easy to opt for that choice. I recommend the Chipper's Fav sandwich if you're a fan of tuna. Otherwise there are many many other protein and veggies options.
My family and I visited SF for the first time in years and this place made it much better. Cheap and delicious sandwiches that satisfy everyone.
I don’t think it’s legal. They tried to add a 15% markup on my sandwich menu price, without telling me anything. I had to ask to get an explanation. They have a small sign “pricing may vary” and use that trick to overcharge clients. Even on DoorDash the price was cheaper than in-store. It did not make sense at all. For sure there will be a class action for that and it will be really deserved. Shadiest business practice ever.
Doordash order: NOTHING ABOUT THE SANDWICH WAS HOT. The bread, cheese, mushrooms or artichokes, nothing. I paid for extra cheese & didn't get it or the pickles I ordered. They did give me onion rings on it that I didn't ask for, ugh. I won't order from them again, online or in person.
