my first time trying ethiopian food and got the veggie combo. highlights were the key sir and misir wot! not usually a lentil fan but this was so flavorful!! also loved the injera, it was slightly sour and chewy, soaking up the flavor from the veggie dishes.however, giving it 3 stars for the service. it took us over an hour to order and receive our food. looks like it’s just one guy doing everything but the wait was too long

I would let the pic speak for itself but I want to indulge you. I have been on the hunt for authentic tasting Ethiopian food since I got to The Bay! And I have finally found it!!! I have not had Ethiopian Food this good since I was in Ethiopia!I got the Veggie combo which serves as my Litmus test for any Ethiopian restaurant I go to….If they make the Veggie Combo correctly then I’m confident everything else will delicious. This husband and wife duo did not disappoint everything was perfectly seasoned!!! My friend got the chicken with a side of chickpeas and it was finger licking good. We also enjoyed their spiced tea.The photography in the space truly does transports you to lands far away. Thank you Elias! As promised I will become a regular and introduce all my friends to Tadu Ethiopian.

I walk by here on my way to UCSF campus nearly every day and I'm so glad that I finally stopped in. The food was delicious, plentiful, and they even offered me a free hot tea while I waited for my takeout. Great food and exceptional service! Plus the bonus of supporting a Black-owned business. I will definitely be coming here again.

This is the very first time I tried Ethiopian place. I was surprised to see that they have lot of good vegetarian options. I feel Ethiopian food is unique and some of their sides actually resembles Indian curry if you think about the spices and flavor. I found the food to be super interesting. I definitely received Tadu to anyone who wants to try something out of box.

My friend and I stopped in to eat here before I returned home. The customer service was beautiful and gentle. The food came out quickly and was soooooo good. Growing up on ethiopian and eritrean food in Toronto, I have had a wide-scale of varieties. Truly the only reason I didn't eat more was the plane ride home. If you are in San Francisco or visiting you have to go here. Make sure you get the shiro wat!!!!!! I can't wait to return.

Fresh delicious Ethiopian food. I generally go for the vegetarian options here and love misir wot. Service is a bit slow but totally understandable because there only one person manning the reception and serving.

Great food and great service. It was my first time eating Chicken Tibs. The injera was a great complement to the food.

Really good food and good portions! Excellent vegetarian and vegan food options as well. The only reason I've reduced my rating is the serviceIt seemed like the entire restaurant was managed by just one person. Or atleast was the day I went there. It took almost 20 mins to even get a glass of water after we were seated. And 30 mins to get the food.

The service was very rude. I wanted to order The Firfir, and in the description of the dish it says “Small pieces of injera, tossed in beef berbere, LAMB,…”. I don’t eat lamb, so I just asked to clarify if the Beef Berbere Bandaru still contains lamb. The response was “You order beef you get beef, you order lamb you get lamb, we are not crazy here ok?” I don’t think it is a good attitude towards the customer, the menu description is misleading, am I not allowed to double check?

We went to this Ethiopian restaurant the other day and had fantastic food!We ordered inside, but there is only seating outside in their lovely front area.We ordered two different veg plates, with extra injera, and shared (there was some overlap, but that was OK). All the food was really good and it is the first Ethiopian restaurant we've ever been to that incorporated tofu and had beets. And the owner is a really nice guy offering wonderful hospitality.I took home the little leftover and had a great breakfast the next morning. Super satisfied.I'm looking forward to returning!
