we were in the main dining room and there was an issue with the AC. We left completely covered in sweat and although dinner was good, we were uncomfortable.

Was a little disappointed from previous visits. Had to send my prime rib back was very tuff and chewy. But was replaced with a much better piece. The cream spinach was different than I remember too much bacon in it Had a very new waiter who was ok. Overall nice evening but felt it was a little rushed and lacked the old time feeling

Always consistently outstanding. My favorite restaurant in San Francisco

Had been looking forward to going for our anniversary, booked 6 months in advance for a 9pm Tuesday slot. Had heard of it from my sister who goes for special occasions. The service was fantastic and the food was good. The prices were actually good too for what you get. The ambiance absolutely ruined it for me. The vibe felt more like an Old Spaghetti Factory or Benihana. It was families and kids galore. Crying babies, Happy Birthday singing 3x over the course of our dinner. So soo loud. We came dressed up because we thought it was a nice restaurant, but everyone was dressed casual. If you’re looking for something romantic and elegant don’t come here - there are a million better restaurants in SF for that. If you love their menu specifically and don’t mind the noise, it’s a fun night.

HOPR is my son favorite, and it’s where he wants to celebrate his birthday.

Was trying to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday! Unfortunately, a big party next to us was obnoxiously really loud! It was hard to enjoy and have a conversation.

Have always had a great dining experience here. I don't know what happened because the food is always good and last night it was that much more delicious.

The food doesn't disappoint! The prime rib was tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Our server was fantastic and we had a great time. I loved that the restaurant wasn't totally packed with people like it used to be. Also love that we were able to get reservations at a good time and we got seated within reasonable time.

I've grown up going to HOP and it was always the ambiance and service accompanied by the food that kept us going back. However, that has taken a downturn. Even after making a reservation, we were stuck at a small table intended for 4 guests for a party of 5. Our waiter was not attentive at all and constantly forgot everything that we requested from her. I made a note in my reservation and with the waiter that we were there celebrating a birthday, and she completely disregarded the note and didn't even make an effort to put a candle or sing to our birthday guest until I had to ask her to bring a candle out after the desserts arrived. We made multiple attempts to be patient with our waiter but it ultimately left us all disappointed once the night ended. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to HOP anytime soon.

We’ve been dining at HOPR for years and never experienced anything like what happened last night. While placing the orders with our waitress, we specifically told her only one of us wanted the baked potato and all 3 of us at the table wanted the cream corn and spinach. And when the dinners came, there was only the spinach accompanying the prime rib. So I told her that she forgot the cream corn. She then went to get our cream corn for us But charged us $14 for that. When I questioned her while paying the bill, she simply said we got charged extra because the corn had to come in a different plate instead of with the meat and spinach! It was her fault for not listening well to what the customer ordered and the menu clearly stated that the side dishes come with the prime rib.
