I understand this place has changed owners. I used to go here often and loved it. My last two orders were disappointing - the bagels were small, dryish, and not too flavorful.

I got the New Yorker bagel sandwich. Honestly it was pretty pricey for what I got. Paid about $15 for a relatively small bagel. They did load up the bagel with a good amount of salmon and filling though. Service was also a bit on the slow side. But they look like they have good pastries and their bagel was pretty good tasting. Maybe better to buy their bagel by the dozen instead of a sandwich.

Decent bagels but not stand out. The filling options are good. I got the Flightless bird - turkey was super moist but unfortunately whilst it looks promising, the whole thing lacked that oomph of flavour. Staff were friendly though!

The recent rumors of the sale of this exceptional emporium of doughy delights are greatly exaggerated! As a New Yorker, born and raised, I can attest that these remain the best damn bagels west of the Rockies, if not the freakin' Mississippi! So have no fear and get yourself a schmear on Gear-y!

There’s no prices on display, it’s a room for cheating on the charges. I think the prices are kinda steep and there’s no boxes. 1 dozen bagels $23 ish, double than Noah’s. Taste wise, not so good, Noah’s way better.

We stopped for a coffee and bagel with lox. It was an excellent sandwich, fresh and made on the spot. Big variety of bagels, salty and sweet.

Out of bagels at 10:30 on Easter Sunday... Should have prepared better... And maybe put a sign on the window letting customers know before they wait in line 15 mins.Extra star because staff was nice, and clearly doing their best. Whomever made the prep decisions last night did not set the team up for success :(

I used to look forward getting cragle (bagel x croissant hybrid), today I got 2. they were stale, and not as they used to be where you can peel layers of bagel. Too much money (~$5$ per plain), for mediocre quality.

Pretty decent bagels at House of Bagels. We love the different options. O man. Talk about options. That True New Yorker $13 was a gem. Cream cheese, salmon, capers, fresh tomato and red onions. The Morning Start $9 came with avocado, cheese and egg. It was delicious! We also got a few bagels for later. The only drawback was, later in the evening, they didn't taste as good because the bagels turned chewy and tough. All in all, it was a good experience standing on the sidewalk on Geary eating tasty bagels.

THEY ARE JUST BAGEL-SHAPED ROLLS. Because I lived in NYC for two decades, I know that authentic, New York-style, Jewish bagels smell and taste and have a density like no other bread product. The things sold at House of Bagels are nothing more than bagel-shaped rolls. They have bo bagel smell, no bagel taste, and forget about any chewy density. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT BAGEL-SHAPED ROLLS! I've tried them on at least six difference occasions and it's always the same.
