Quaint location, soft café music playing and the ambiance is soothing. I got what I paid for definitely. The cappuccino which was beyond fantastic, perfect silky texture and temperature. The hint of vanilla with the rich espresso under a thick cloud of steamed milk created a perfect balance of light and dark. I also purchased the Salmon eggs Benedict and let me tell you, everything about it was perfect. The visual appeal matched the dining quality. Eggs were gooey and warm, the hollandaise sauce was creamy, not too many capers and the salmon had a great smoky hint. Underneath, a crispy english muffin lay. The perfect combination. On the side I got hashbrowns and a salad (not the cheap iceberg kind) served with a raspberry vinaigrette I believe. The portion sizes were reasonable and feasible.
Interior decoration and chairs are amazing, the seating area next to windows were closed when we went and went inside I didn’t know why? As inside area was dullFood portion were good, but my Philly Cheese steak and omelette (new item) was not that great honestly , the meal lacked the right seasoning and bell peppers weren’t really cooked well, I don’t recommend itMy wife took the crab cake Benedict and it was good, I gave the place 4 starts because of customer service and agreeing to request remake my wife’s order as we requested “not runny eggs” but first plate had runny eggs
despite the line outside this place, the food is worth the wait and hype. fresh, interesting and a pleasant dining experience (not too loud but not too quiet, either). i got the cafe au lait - will probably try something else because i thought it was quite bland. but their food is amazing. i tried their home plate fritata and swapped the potatoes with a rather generous serving of fresh fruit.
This place makes you feel like you're sitting in a fine Cafe in Paris or Berlin without being overpriced. Breakfast was extra delicious and everyone working here exceptionally friendly. Highly recommended!
Home plate has a modern atmosphere and friendly service. The food was great (just like down home) and the Mocha just how I like it.
Great food, disappointing service. I went there twice, the food quality is absolutely amazing. The first time we waited 45 min to be seated, so it was a sign that the local is very popular, that was the reason we webt back again. Second time the service was totally disappointing, one of waitresses was impolite. So I recommend this restaurant for amazing food but be aware you need to be patient with them cause they are not. Obviously they have lots of customers they do not care if they loose few.
nice place, quick service, food is ok
OUTDOOR SEATIN IS WEEKENDS ONLY!We were here yesterday and preferred to come back instead of trying somewhere else. If you don’t have your vax card you cannot eat inside and outdoor seating isn’t available during week days. It’s still a great place to eat at and the bottomless mimosas (or the liter) is still worth the money.
Home Plate was my first place to grab food after 11 hours journeying from Scotland this week. The food is great, and served quickly, but the actual service is fantastic. All the ladies who have been in this week have been so courteous and polite and lovely and welcoming. I’ve been back again today, and will probably be back again before I leave. Superb.
Great Pancakes. They had an unexpected but really nice consistence. I am almost tempted to go back and reorder just to see if it always taste like that or if I got a weird batch. They were "fluffy but dense" in very pleasant way (makes no sense I know).I am starting to be a bit of a pancake nerd as I always eat pancakes when I traveling and those are among the best I ever had. East Coast to West Coast. Definitely top 3 in my book.
