A client booked Hedge Coffee to serve at a wedding we hosted at our venue. As GM of the facility, I have worked with all kinds of different vendors and event providers over the years. Hedge Coffee were on time, easy to work with, polite, careful about their impact on the facility, followed directions, and produced amazing coffee drinks for our guests. I would highly recommend them if you need a coffee cart.

I'm writing this review because it has been YEARS since i've received such unprofessional, and just unreasonably rude service from a hired vendor in my 10 years of Event Management and am truly baffled to see 5 star reviews on this page after the experience my company received. We hired Hedge Coffee to come onsite to our office to make specialty coffees for our employees (at a very steep cost I might add, all good though we expected it to be worth the cost). They were scheduled from 8am-10am for two days. We get a text at 7am saying they will arrive any minute, however there was no mention of arriving before 8am, not communicating set up time is extremely unprofessional when it comes to early morning access requests. After the miscommunication of arrival time, once onsite the owner of Hedge coffee, Alex Sobal proceeds to berate an employee with how he is an expert on where to put his coffee cart for "flow of ordering coffee" and did not want to set up his coffee bar in the space allocated to him. He delayed set up time another 15 minutes just yelling at our office manager that he didn't want to listen to her request and continued to argue about set up. He finally just huffed and puffed and unwillingly followed the instructions given to him, and as he was leaving never even apologized or tried to remedy the situation. And of course after being so arrogant, and unwilling to listen to simple instructions in someone else's office space, we also had to ask the barista's one being the owner of Hedge Coffee, Alex Sobal to ***keep their masks on while serving our employees drinks***!!!!, we have signs posted on our entrance and around our office that face masks are required regardless of vaccination status but they thought asking a random employee if they could take off their masks means its okay to have them off. After our office manager had to ask them to put them back on, they literally argued that they would prefer not to and would like to show their vaccination proof instead. After the second/ last day having them onsite, they just left, no thanks for hiring us, no apologies for all the hostility, being argumentative, poor communication, etc.The arrogance and unprofessionalism throughout this entire experience was honestly so incredibly upsetting. I would recommend looking for ANY other company to provide these services unless you want to have the same extremely poor experience we received.?

Hedge is by FAR my favorite coffee shop in the world. Yes, I've said it and I'm not exaggerating. The coffee itself is fantastic, but what really makes this place special is the people who run it. Kyle is the friendliest and most welcoming barista I've had the chance to encounter; his positive energy alone is so contagious and makes going to Hedge more like a self-care moment than just a coffee run. Service is fantastic, the food is incredible (the bagel lox.. kimchi croissant.. just wow) and the people who get their coffee here also often seem like really interesting characters from all walks of life. If you love people-watching, exquisite coffee, human connection, amazing unique food and flavors, and neighborhood communities... Hedge is THAT place.

They have the best beans!! The staff is super friendly and drinks are made with care (so if there are people in front of you it may take some time, but it is well worth it!!). I get the single origin latte and can actually taste the flavors. We also use their beans at home in our Breville espresso maker and are amazed at how good it tastes.

The best coffee spot I’ve ever experienced. The staff are the nicest, the coffee is the most delicious, and I can’t wait to see where they go next.

Awesome coffee drinks, but if you’re looking for an iced chai in the city, they also have the best one Ive had in the city!

One of the best flat whites (and I assume other espresso based drinks) in the city. The rich espresso is well balanced with the perfectly textured microfoam. It is consistently good.It does take a bit longer than most other coffee shops after you order (~5-10min) but it is well worth the wait and it means that time and effort is being put into making you a great cup.

Best espresso (double ristretto) I have tasted in SF so far. I think I will be going there weekly.

You gotta come here! The staff is awesome and the coffee so good. Thanks for brightening my day

Delicious espresso. Very San Francisco very Potrero. Sat at a wood block table in the sun shine.
