this place was okay overall and wouldn’t come back here. no aspects were redeeming considering all the great neighboring restaurants.atmosphere felt sticky and dirty, maybe due to the poor lighting, sticky table cloths and run down atmosphere. it didn’t feel welcoming nor set the tone wellchicken and rice: came slightly cold and wasn’t a huge fan. with hainanese chicken, the cut matters so much but thought there was too much fat and ligaments in the chicken piecesvirgin sacrifice drink: too sweet for me, reminded me of drinks you get at all inclusives.
I stopped by yesterday to get a drink and some dinner to go. Attentive bartender, and good service. I ordered the pigs eat appetizer which was not bad, though a bit salty for my taste. The tamarind soup and the panang curry get 1/ zero stars. Tamarind soup was super mediocre, no fresh or clear flavors coming through. The panang curry was super sweet, with very poor quality clearly frozen shrimp, not what you would expect from what looked like a decent kitchen. The rice ball salad was good, and satisfying, nothing else unfortunately.I have really enjoyed Laotian food in the past, and this was a big letdown...Its probably a good spot for apps and drinks, but from my experience, a big no for dinner.
The food was average at best. The kao ghee was burned and had a bitter after taste. It wasn't authentic to me. The crispy fried fish dish I've order was ok.
Great food, Excellent Vibez?
All the food was delicious! Definitely recommend the Crispy Rice Ball Salad and the pork belly. Service was fast, and staff was very kind.
Okayyyy!!!!So there we was with no plans walking down the Mission passing by bustling full restaurants. As we approached the end of Valencia, full of doubts and defeat of finding a restaurant to dine at during this peak dinner hour. Stopping to take a break in front of Hawker Fare, I inquired about the wait time. There were a few guests before us who had reservations so I didn't have a lot of faith. The host quickly asked us how many we had (3), if we had a reservation (no), and asked to see our vax status. Then he turned and asked us to follow him to which we were promptly seated. Wow!We ordered food, it arrived, and we ate happily. The food was yummy, filling, and came out quickly. The crispy rice salad is a catch, and the pork belly is so fatty and filling. The service here is pretty messy and super rushed, which is probably why there aren't great ratings on here or Yelp.Lots of seats in here though and an excellent atmosphere!I'd like to be back Have fun :)
Good space for both indoor and outdoor seating. Tried multiple plates and the pigs ear as a starter, plus rices and cocktails. All super delicious and decently priced. They seemed a bit understaffed and yet were so friendly and pretty prompt. Pretty, cool, affordable, and a good mix of interesting and common (for SF) drinks/foods.
This place is a must try! The grilled chicken is the best tasting ever, the cocktails are amazing and all the ingredients are made in house. Highly recommended!!
Good and original food with a very nice mood and great service by the staff. Honorable mention to the cocktails.
It’s Asian but it’s nothing like Chinese, Japanese, or Korean snd not much like Thai either. The dishes we chose were sweeter than those other cuisines, with some new flavors. We ate family style and wish we’d gone with a larger party so we could’ve sample more. Loved the string beans! It was a warm atmosphere-even with the doors wide open- with caring service. Our son eats Asian food in SF all the time and pronounced this meal great!
