Having some delicious brisket from Brisket Prime a few months back. Bbq can be heavy and put you in a really good after lunch nap at work!Had not been to Hardwood (SF) since pre-pandemic days. My co-workers and I wanted to have something different amongst the limited amount of food offerings around work.It'sone of those days where you say, " Why not? Let's tackle some BBQ" minus the spiked Arnold Palmers and Hard Seltzers!Tender and juicy beef brisket and pork ribs. Very delicious dry fried salt and pepper chicken wings. Now if they only made some banana nilla pudding to end a great lunch!
Hardwood is a must. Food is consistently good and the drinks are consistently strong. My recent visit I had the chicken sliders and brisket. Everything is reasonably priced and always a lot of fun.

Fast, friendly service. Good drinks and the salad was great. Found the ribs to be a bit too dry for my liking.
The Cook's said this was Bay Area style BBQ (Beef Brisket & Pork Spare Ribs).This was the best BBQ beef brisket I have had in the bay area. I went back and tried the BBQ pork spare ribs and they were very good too.The atmosphere is good for team events, quick lunch and happy hours. It is a bar so plenty of beers and full bar.Make sure to try the Habanero sauce, it is awesome. It sweet at first but will sneak up on you so becareful.
I have eaten a lot of BBQ in 70 years but never seen brisket that was more than 50% fat. They need to trim the brisket at least some before it is smoked and then trim it again after so the layer of fat is just a thin line at the edge of the meat.Fries are good and sauce is good. Clean up the brisket and this place could do some business.Very good servers. Kudos to them.
WOW! We had not been here in years... I actually think it was a different restaurant before. We live out of town and were rushing to get to an appointment down the way from Harwood with an hour to spare for lunch. We booked a reservation online on our way, showed up, had a table all ready for us. The menu is one of those menus where every single thing is something you want to order. It was hard to choose. We opted for the spicy chicken sandwich, curly fries and Mac salad. YUM!! Best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Our server (wish I caught her name!) was so friendly and attentive and just awesome. This place far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely grab lunch here next time we’re in town for an appointment and we’ll try new things because literally EVERYTHING looks delicious ? Thank you for a wonderful lunch, we’ll be back!
Over all experience it ahhh. I order chicken sandwich and chicken wings and potatoes salad. Chicken is oky but potatoes salad is need more salt and flavor wings are dry and some dipping on side bbq sauce they made its over smoky flavor.
You have to like overpriced, salty, bad bbq to like this place.No flavor and no smoke in the bbq. Chicken was dry and not edible. And did I say burned? The sauces provided was decent, but its sad you have to drown your bbq to get flavor.
