An off-the-beaten path gem near the Tenderloin district in SF. Very high marks for authenticity, flavors, menu diversity, decor and friendliness of the staff. The food was universally delicious, filling and plentiful. Demerits due to understaffing, which led to an ordering mix-up. For a Tuesday night dinner, the restaurant was quite crowded and there were only two waitstaff. They were friendly and worked very hard, but because of the understaffing our main courses were long delayed and there was insufficient attention paid to each table. Still, the quality of the food and warm welcome more than made up for these small issues. I would highly recommend and certainly look forward to returning again in the future.

I rarely ever give 1 start review because I'm usually not picky and not easily disappointed but man this place is not the greatest. When we came in we were seated pretty quick. The waiter brought out the tea pretty quick and said he will come back with the menu. We waited about 20min before we decided to get up and ask for it..ended getting it from a different table. We finally decided on what we wanted to eat and waited about another 15min before our order was taken. 15 or so minutes they brought out bread, with soup while others waited on their orders. 10 or so minutes later part of the order came out and it was not the rest of it. We asked for another tea pot they took it away and haven't brought it out till the end. We were still missing 2 things that we ordered at that time and finally the meat dish came out...like 50min later. I never received a second dish that I ordered:/ I asked the waiters to cancel the order because I didn't want it anymore and both times they replied they will see where the order is at. Anyways...never came out. The food was not good! Very very disappointing. Bread was a bit dry and manti were sour for some reason..could not finish them. I ended up going to a different restaurant to get something to eat after. The dish that I didn't receive they didn't take it off the receipt. I tried to insist our friend to tell them to take it off the menu but he insisted on paying. I know this sounds bad but we decided not to leave a tip instead. Probably would have waited another 30 min for that to be resolved. Seemed like they only had 2 waiters for the whole restaurant..was very disorganized. Maybe if they hired more help it would make their customer service better and efficient. I will not come back here again...ever. oh and had acid reflex the second I came out of that restaurant.

This restaurant certainly deserves the high rating it's got on Google. We ordered the Balaza soup and Olivier salad for starters, both were really great. The main dishes were Sofi Osh (comes with small salad plate) and the lamb chops plate. The meat was perfectly cooked and the rice was great. Food felt clean and the presentation was nice. We ordered honey cake afterwards which was ok but not the best I've had but the tea was complimentary which was a plus. The restaurant decor and ambience were quite nice and relaxing, the bathrooms weren't too bad but could use some cleaning. Only downside is there weren't enough waiters serving the tables and the portions felt a bit small, for me and my husband that wasn't an issue cause we don't eat a lot, but for people with greater appetite, it might feel like more is needed to be full. Last thing, their prices are quite reasonable.

I like to go there much . But this time when i bring my friend who never been at uzbek place. When we got there there was enough place to seat and some tables was reserved with sign of that. But one table was not reserved and one of employees show us with hand to seat for table of 4 people. We was directly going to that table when manager stop us and start telling us that table with no sign on it is reserved and trying to seat us on table for 2 people. I spent for 2 people around 100$ , that's means a lot of plates will be on the table. I ask him why other tables has sign and this table hasn't? He just told not enough reserved sign they have it which is not true. I took my friend to sushi where they respect more then this manager. I from Uzbekistan also and i know how is the customer service there . Not like in SF place. It's ok you just lost one of the customer and i never will recommend to anyone anymore. And that manager need to learn that customer is number one priority.

Food was okay. Some were good but some were missing certain spices to give it the wow factor. Portions were generous. Place has nice decor. Service was lacking. And....Seriously! $5 for hot tea in a tiny tea pot using a tea bag?!?! Plus they didn't tell me they charged for each pot. That's not cool. I thought I was getting 3 "refills" of hot water. But I guess for $5 each pot, it's nice that they gave us a new tea bag.

Great authentic Uzbek food. All infringing were fresh. We had samosas, manti, osh (Pilov), kefta kebab. Nothing is spicy but everything is flavorful. Good friendly Sevice. For authentic experience sit on elevated platforms and sit cross legged. ??

True Uzbek food that delivers authentic taste of Uzbek cuisine with Bukharian flavor added. Kazan kebab is highly recommended for those are new to this cuisine.

Very happy to have stopped by here to try the food from Uzbekistan, we had a very warm reception and the server was fantastic. The dumplings were delicious and the soup was fantastic. Very interesting flavours and not ones you try everyday. The meat was also really good and quite tasty. We really enjoyed our time here and will be back again if we are in the area!

We recently visited halal DASTARKHAN for dinner and had a great experience. The service was great and the staff was very polite. The menu is fully halal so we tried several different things. We ordered a lamb chop somsa, fresh salad, steamed manti, and lamb/beef mixed lula kebabs, with some tea on the side. The food was good and I especially liked the kebabs. However, I would have preferred a little more spice in some of the other dishes. We were seated in back area of the restaurant on raised seats, which was a nice experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for halal food in San Francisco or anyone wanting to try Uzbek cuisine.

Great costumer service and delicious food. If you are craving for kabob that's closest to kabob sharifi in Kabul I recommend this place. Great atmosphere and peaceful background music, with beautiful decorations. Could not have enough of the beef kabob and Lula kabob.
