The fish is so fresh and everything we had was amazing. The chef and staff went out of their way to give us the best experience possible. We will happily be back the next time we’re in town! If I lived in this neighborhood, I’d be here every week.

Great food and great service.

Sushi is incredible, we ordered almost every roll and they were all fantastic. Noise level is a little high and service was relatively good…it was also very busy due to convention( not restaurants fault). Highly recommend

Food was delicious, service very slow, we were a table of 7 and it took at least 20 min before someone even approached us. Once we placed our order it was fine.

Was an ok choice. But unfortunately nothing out of the ordinary.

Had the omakase. Service was very slow - took about three hours for 10-11 dishes. It was extremely busy, so understandable, but the slowness persisted throughout the night, when there weren’t many tables left. The nigiri was okay, but I really enjoyed the side dishes: lamb, viagra shot, wagyu, pork belly. The order of the nigiri came throughout the experience - not fish first and heavy meals later. I wish there was a palette cleanser in between the land meat plates and nigiri, would have been more enjoyable. I would probably get the omakase elsewhere, like at Hinata or Utzutzu, next time. Rolls at the next table looked good though.

The best sushi in town. The chef welcomed us with a delicious soup. If you are in town and want the best sushi then you should visit. The owner is super nice and very passionate about it.

Our hotel recommended this Japanese restaurant and wow, we were so grateful and impressed we went their twice on our 5 day break in SF. The venue is cool, the food is fresh and delicious but best of all if you sit at the bar the chefs serve you direct! Amazing food and even better service! The head chef/owner Julio was awesome and gave us a free lobster claw to try on our 2nd visit! We would visit SF again just to come here, thank you so much! ?

One of my favorite sushi spots. Excellent everything. But the Omakase is superior. It’s a steal at $160 and so much amazing food on par with Michelin tasting menus. It’s a filling 24 courses so come with room to eat.

Once in a while you come to a restaurant with the excellent reviews and you think you must have come to the wrong address or there was a management change in the meantime.Unfortunately, the lunch sashimi cuts at Hakashi were definitely not fresh. For supposedly one of the top 10/20 SF sushi places, quite disappointing. The best review was offered by the waiter after the “not great” opinion: “It doesn’t matter, happens all the time.”
