Oh, man. Golden Gate Donuts. Terrific donuts, but it's Brian, the owner, who makes this shop the anchor of the neighborhood. You don't often come across a business owner who is as relentlessly friendly, polite and caring ... and I mean that in a good way. The only reason I don't go to GGD every morning is the calories. But I know plenty of people DO go there every morning. And I'm tempted. They open early, as a donut shop should, and the donuts are excellent (I always get the same thing, though, and often, Brian or his wife will throw in a few extra donut holes). Support small business, support people who work hard for a living. And eat donuts.
This shop usually has some type of fresh donut when i stop by, so whether it's glazed or chocolate, a warm donut here will make you smile. I should also note it's cash only.

9 years ago we had these donuts and we are still talking about them. Passing through on a trip south we purchased a dozen and our then 9 year old son ate his weight’s worth. We try to find a donut shop on every vacation and nothing has compared. Can’t wait to visit again.
