Really pleased with the food. The starters were excellent. We ordered shishitos, yuca fries and brussel sprouts for the table and they were cooked perfectly, a little charred as they should be! Lomo Saltado and Cubano were tasty too!
Excellent food, good service, nice relaxing ambiance.
Had the taco trio with carne asada, carnitas and pineapple pork - all 3 were very good. Lomo saltado was also very good, the meat was tender. The elote was good too but I thought the serving was small. All together a nice positive experience. Thank you!
Great food and good prices. The service was very off this time. We have had much better service here other times.
Good prices and good service but I wasn't happy with my dinner. I ordered the Cubano and it was dripping in grease/oil. I also couldn't taste the pickle which is a staple in a Cuban sandwich. On the side was a dry fried patty--either plantain or potato. Flavorless. My friends weren't thrilled with their fish tacos dinner either.
I mostly come here for the burrito, they are overpriced for the value but the food is delicious. To echo some previous reviews, that one waiter who seems to be in charge on weekends, never accommodates requests, gets kindof cranky at me for no reason and I can generally tell he likes to turn ppl down.Besides the weird attitude from that guy that this place is super solid.
Great dinner before any Chase Center event.!!

I really have the most polarizing experience at Gilberths.Usually if its Gil himself its a pleasant experience, but there is one waiter who gives the worst service i've experienced in such a while.I have called numerous times to get a burrito bowl at dinner, I have gotten a burrito bowl right before they closed, but today his only response is "Only the menu" in the most condescending manner.Their food is pretty decent, but the service really makes my head spin. Will take another break from here, again.
My friend (a bit scruffy looking) and I were here for dinner the other day at 5pm. We were the first customers and were seated outdoors, and tried to get some service to order food. The waiter was rude and kept asking us if we had a reservation. What reservation would be needed to dine in the cold and when there are NO other customers? As we were contemplating if we should dine at a place with rude customer service, the waiter (Latino male) demanded that we need to make a reservation. There was a lot of hatred in his voice and mannerism.I’ve dined here and ordered take outs several times since I live in this neighborhood - The food is just ok, but it’s the only Latin/Mexican restaurant in Dogpatch so it’s good enough in a pinch when I don’t wanna cook.I recognized that the rudeness may have been because my friend didn’t dress that well, and the waiter didn’t want us to dine there.I live in this neighborhood and I condone any establishments that treats paying customers rudely, especially if it comes from a place of discrimination.
