The best ice cream sundaes I’ve ever had. I’ve been here a zillion times and finally decided to write a review. I’ve tried their world famous sundae, salted caramel sundae, brownie sundae, strawberry sundae and couple of shakes like the double chocolate and their mocha. Everything was amazing. I’ll keep going back to this spot. Apart from their ice creams and chocolates the location is amazing too. You get to see how their chocolates are made. The customer service is pretty good as well.
If you are a first time visitor, I would recommend trying the World Famous sundae. Their brownies are great and highly recommended. There is a parking garage that charges 8$ for the first hour (which is usually sufficient to visit the store, enjoy the ice cream and do some shopping). There are 3 stores but I would recommend going to the main one for your purchases.
For chocolate lovers... Fantastic. Every Ghirardelli chocolate product in one place, with ice cream and brownies. Brick buildings, a cool sight to see. Fudge tasting.I had the Hot Chocolate, great. Straight forward bold taste, not too sweet. There is also shopping and a arcade. You can take your order directly across the street and sit in front of the bay. Beautiful area.
It is an experience by itself. We had to wait in a line before getting in and once again for seats after getting in. The ice cream sundaes were great though especially their world famous fudge. Since it serves only desserts there was a big crowd even though it was after lunch time. Good crowd in the Ghirardelli square too of people buying souvenirs or just lounging around taking photos etc.
I love this Ghiradelli because it has the whole operation of how the chocolate is made going on right in the dining area, but when we went it was Mother's day so everything at the Warf was extremely busy and it wasn't worth the wait to pay the high cost of an ice cream Sunday for the opportunity to watch the machines run. Instead, we just got a bag of assorted chocolates to bring home with us from vacation and called it good. BUT if you are there and it's not busy, it is really a fun thing to do.
Staff was so busy with themselves that they didn't have time for customers. So I left and bought my stuff elsewhere
Always a must while visiting San Francisco. I love their hot fudge. Also wasn’t aware that the have THREE locations right in the same square. The original sit down location where they have their chocolate exhibit, a quick to go service location just a few doors down and a small order counter downstairs on the main floor overlooking the park and beach! It felt less busy so we were happy to come multiple times to enjoy their sundaes! One of the times we ordered at the quick service and took our sundaes to go and enjoyed them on the beach while we watched the sunset.
Was so anxious to try this place. After standing in line for probably 30-40 min. The tiny little shop was packed. No regard for covid..... We got our ice cream sundaes and they were ehhh. actually a little disappointing. The shopping square was disappointing. Not what it used to be for sure!
We went there after being recommended by friends! We just went to get ice creams to take away. Queue was only long out on the street because the service was so TERRIBLE. Shocking was an understatement, rude, slower than slow, unfriendly - it put us off before even getting the sundaes. We ordered 4 sundaes - no brownies available, fudge sauce was just a cheap tasting choc sauce. All of us ate about 3 spoons before putting in the bin. Waste of time, money and calories! Didn’t deserve the reputation.
This is the best chocolate ice cream I had in my life and the quantity is really good - value for money. Any one visiting the Bay Area (San Francisco, pier area), a break at this joint to taste the chocolate ice cream is a must.
