Wow this is our go to place to start our visit to San Francisco. Funny we aren't fish eaters but sitting at the bar having just a drink they make you feel so special. Took 3 years to get back there but on our top place to go back to. Oh and if you love fish it looked amazing!
Fog Harbor was highly recommended to us for the 2018 Award winning clam chowder and that is what drew us to eat there. We shared appetizers. The shrimp cocktail was outstanding. The crab cakes were delicious. The blue cheese garlic sourdouhg bread was very good (one order is enough for 4 or more). The clam chowder was disappointing which is the basis of a 4-star review. It did not have a lot of flavor. It was more of a Bechamel sauce but, it was loaded with clams and potatoes. I rarely add anything to my food but it needed seasoning.
This was my first stop while visiting the SF area for the first time, and it lived up to the reviews! It’s situated on a pier with a lot of activity and views of the Bay, Alcatraz and tons of seals having fun and lounging by the pier! My table was inside by the window with beautiful bay views. I ordered the sautéed fish and fingerling potatoes plus a glass of wine and it was fantastic!! Great experience and I’d go back.
Delicious food in beautiful surroundings with a view of the Harbour. A tad crowded and touristy, but the food and cocktails made up for it.
This was such a delicious meal! All three dishes that we ordered were incredibly delicious! Crab cakes, calamari and fish & chips. The food was fresh and hot. The flavors were outstanding, particularly the calamari. The best I’ve ever had by far. I was dying at the table. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. We would definitely come back for another meal. Loved it! Also had some crunchy, hot sour dough rolls. Perfect!
I visited the Fog House during a trip to SF with my husband and adult children. We'd just visited Alcatraz and this restaurant was conveniently placed at Pier 39. We were promised a outside table overlooking the bay but were actually eventually seated inside. The wait staff look very professional and we but the service didn't live up to expectation. This could be because they had too many table to cover, but for the price we expect good service. The waiter was always hurried and missed things as he was too busy. The table was too small for our party of 5. The table wasn't cleared between courses. The drinks order was wrong. It was difficult to get attention. No clean cutlery for main course. He became more interested when trying to offer the desert menu but we were over it by then and couldn't wait to get out. It's a shame because it could have been lovely. The service overshadowed the food. However the fresh oysters were very small but that may just be how they are in the USA?
Had a great lunch here. Friendly and professional staff. Nice fresh oysters, and great clam pasta. Can be busy but you can book online easily.
From the view, to the crew, most especially the food, everything was just excellent. We ordered calamari, clam chowder, fish and chips, the seafood penne and NY steak. ??
When we arrived at our seat, we were amazed at the view over the Bay with both the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz full framed with the setting sun. Even with a blah meal, this would’ve been enough to put this place near the top of the list. However, the food is fantastic! The clam chowder and crab rolls took me back to northern New England and some recent meals there. Service was an A+ from the front door to the table. They even validate your parking ticket if you park in the Pier garage. Next time we’re in the city, we will be back!!
Great restaurant. The Food is amazing, location is perfect and the staff are superb. Hostess are very organized and the tables are quickly turned over. Service is efficient!
