Excellent and abundant amount of food.
The wait staff were incredibly polite and accommodating. The food was served in a timely manner. The presentation, temperature, and taste of the food was delicious.

great House of Nanking food but in a quiet, well run dining room. delightful for 2, but amazing for a group if you let the owner order for the table!
The union crew told me about Fang. All of them. They talked about dumplings, and crushed hot sauce, so many things I couldn't remember. I left the show early and ran to be first in line at:50 for door open. They were filming for a reality show. I had literally the perfect seat as a single diner tucked in the corner window seat. The service was exquisite. I wasn't sure what to order so I asked the older gentleman ( her dad I was told!) for dumplings and to choose 2 dishes for me. Bring me Anything! I got a lovely noodle + chicken dish, and a fish dish. And I ate the yummy garlic crushed hot sauce directly with my chopsticks.
I am wary of the high reviews for this restaurant. Although the staff was very attentive, the food left much to be desired. We started with the panfried shrimp wonton. The baby bay shrimp inside, mediocre taste, and floppy texture reminded us of the samples at Costco. Still hopeful that this restaurant would prove itself worthy of the excellent reviews on Open Table, we ordered the "highly recommended" (per the menu) house fried rice cooked tableside. If you are expecting a show like one you would get at that popular teppan grill chain, you will be sorely disappointed. You will be even more disappointed by the taste and texture of this dish. We each had a small portion and could not eat any more of it. The aftertaste was worse than the initial bites. Not confident that this restaurant could redeem itself, we cut our losses, paid the bill, and went down the street to enjoy a nice Italian meal. If you are looking for tasty Chinese food, I suggest you head to Chinatown and avoid FANG.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. We especially enjoyed the pan-fried shrimp wontons and house fried rice (which is prepared at the table). The pork steamed buns and salt & pepper shrimp with zucchini were also excellent. Plan on sharing each serving. We ordered each serving as we completed the previous course. Other tables ordered all items immediately and it appeared to be overwhelming when all courses arrived at the same time. The ambiance is more industrial and casual rather than fine dining. Tables are set with linen. Service is prompt but abrupt. We had an issue with a serving and the item was removed from our check without hesitation. We dined early Sunday night but as the evening progressed the restaurant became very busy. Reservations are highly recommended. Our only criticism - the beer was warm.
I thought the food was fine, but somewhat on the bland side and not very exciting. It wasn't that it tasted bad, but more just uninspired. The type of place that if I was a at Moscone conference with people that are hesitant about ethnic foods, this would be a safe place to go too. A little on the pricey side for Asian food.
This place is unreal. Could eat here every night.
