Great spot! Lots of selection and good pricing.

I liked the xlb, juicy bao, and scallion pancakes here! The dumplings were okay but I think I'd just order the xlb if I came again. We got the mala, pork, and crab and pork xlb. All 3 were great. The crab and pork one actually had crab flavors. Super soupy inside as well. Be careful eating the juicy bao so you don't burn yourself/get soup everywhere. Scallion pancakes were great. Service was very nice and dog friendly!

We had an AMAZING experience at the Dumpling house. The best juicy pork fried bao and chicken steamed bao. The pot of jasmine tea was wonderful for a chilly night out in San Francisco. Truly a gem!

I am kinda picky when it comes to dumplings. I have a good deal of experience making food . The ratings for this place were quite high so we arrived with great expectation. The service was very good. The dumplings look great, but the filling was rubbery! Any experienced cook knows that this is due to over processing the filling with the mixer and/or freezing the rolled filling. Several of their dumplings were like this. The only ones that were not: soup dumplings. The ones below look very cute, but be careful as they are very difficult to eat and a hot liquid inside squirts out upon the first bite (It squirted into my eye!) Should have gone to to Dumpling Time, so much better.

Soooo good ? definitely understand why it’s so hyped, freshly made and fast preparation. Absolutely delicious. You need to get here early before it opens to get the best seats inside and the freshest food. Would give 6 stars if possible.

- juicy pork bun: it really was juicy! wasn’t expecting that from a fried bun but enjoyed it thoroughly. skin was chewy and crispy, pretty flavorful- crispy chicken wing: soooo good! had a tangy, slightly spicy and umami flavor. it was fried perfectly and the skin was so crispy. must have.- green beans: simply seasoned but delicious! has nice flavor to pair with the carbs of the dumplings. one of the must tries- chicken xlb: this was better than I thought. the chicken soup was comforting especially on a cold day- chive pocket: didn’t really like this one, the “pocket” felt a little undercooked- boiled shrimp, egg, and mushroom dumpling: this was okay, honestly tastes the same as something you can boil from frozen- service was decent, they filled up tea frequently and brought out food quickly.- on the pricier side, ended up paying $30/pp- overall great dumpling spot i would take people to in the city

Best dumplings I’ve had in SF. Possibly best dumplings I’ve had outside of China. The soup dumplings were amazing— the skin was so thin it was translucent. The pan fried pork dumplings were so juicy! A must try— it’s very rare to find them outside of Shanghai. 100% worth the wait.

Ordered the fried pork bun, Wonton soup and green beens etc, but don’t have all the photos. Everything was delicious and tasted authentic Shanghai cuisine. Would come again!

4.5 star. I ate indoors and it was chilly. That’s the only reason I will not give 5 stars. I arrived at 5pm and was the 3rd table being waited on. Once it was 6pm , it was fully packed even the seats outside were just about full. Yes, they offer heaters for the peeps that wanna eat outside.I ordered the iced tea, pan fried juicy pork bao, fried chicken wings, shrimp and egg chives and wood ear mushrooms(not imaged). Everything that I order was flavorful(so yummy) hot and fresh. The juices from inside the pan fried pork bao sure is juicy! Be careful not to spill on yourself or burn your mouth.

My friend put it best, “Those little guys, straight bangers”Wings were gnarly too, ended up ordering another round of wings at the end even though we were already full
