Divine! This place is magnificent! The food is delicious! Drooling just looking at our pictures again! We ordered the tacos, and tamale, chicken pozole, guack and chips and churos! The Guack was super fresh the soup hot and savory, the food seriously is so good! Order everything!

Everything was delicious. I wanted to eat Zong on the Dragon Boat festival, but I didn't want to get the frozen one to cook at home. Found this restaurant and enjoyed the yummy tamele with mole. Fish taco is unbelievable ?I usually will leave the totilla, but not at Donaji. Pozole Rojo is tasty too. Thank you for an option of not adding cilantro. Will go back to try other dishes next time. Olé??

All around, a wonderful dining experience. We went for brunch. The atmosphere was colorful, airy, an cheerful and the food was delicious! Every bite was a treat in a very relaxing space with great service. We particularly loved the carnitas benedictos and look forward to trying more of their brunch options! Also, Gf and vegetarian options.

--- AUTHENTIC DELICIOUS TRUE MEXICAN CUISINE, HIDDEN GEM ---As a Mexican, finding authentic cuisine, even in CA is extremely difficult as I've always found that most places are americanized, until I found Donaji. From all the places I've so far tried it is not only the most authentic but the best. The dishes are all affordable, beautiful and truly delightful to eat. There isn't one dish that isn't prepared with care. Their tortillas and masa are absolutely delicious, their horchata isn't just sugar and actually flavorsome (tip: get the horchata latte if you're in need of some caffeine), the quesabirria packs a punch while the beef melts in your mouth, and the mole is the best in town! This place is still undiscovered so easy to walk-in.Highly recommended to anyone who wants a taste of Mexico in the Mission.(P.S. They also sell their incredible tortillas to go if you want the best quesadillas or tacos at home, and the tamales reheat perfectly for breakfast the next morning)

I didn't expect anything other than the general mexican food I'm used to in The Mission. That's not bad, but it gets "samey" quickly. Everyone just makers the same thing and nothing stands out.I went for lunch during "restaurant week", for their lunch special. As soon as the first course came out (the sopas) I knew this was different. Evey bite was wonderful. The best pozole I've ever had. Some of the best mole I've tasted. And the drinks were also delicious. The horchata tasted different than any I've had and I think that is because it wasn't overly sweet. You could actually taste the ingredients.Had not planned it but it was so good we ended up getting dessert too. Yum!Easily my favourite mexican food in San Fransisco now. Just want to go back to try every dish!

An amazing experience. The pescado, fried chicken tacos were soooo delicious. And don’t leave before you try the pozole!! Thankyou we will be returning. <3

Best breakfast I've had in ages. The cheese and poblano tamales are incredible! Lovely atmosphere, delicious coffee with a hint of cinnamon, and great music.

There’s a restaurant in the deep Mission I’ve got to talk up given it’s newish and not that busy - Donaji. It’s Oaxacan, and has the best mole I’ve had in CA. Not to sweet and balanced heat. Also the fresh tortillas are incredible, and apparently their tamales and quesobirria are off the charts. If you’re by 24th check them out and write a review.

After living in Oaxaca, Mexico, I am always in search of great Mexican cuisine. Donaji is a gem. Went in for breakfast and ordered their Chilaquiles - swapping red for green sauce and adding an extra egg. The meal was delicious and the handmade tortillas and the green sauce were highlights. Have already been back and look forward to coming again.

Delicious! Pre-ordered 12 vegetarian tamales. Comes with red and green salsa and pickled cabbage and onions.Tamales were so flavorful - really loved the Oaxacan cheese.Highly recommend Donaji. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu.
