So highly recommended. The staff are some of the most courteous and attentive staff I’ve ever had. Not to mention, as a Texan, some of the best Mexican cuisine I’ve ever had. Everything is too notch. The Hibiscus margarita was *chefs kiss* delightful. Pollo Asado tacos were phenomenal. Definitely stop by and give this place a go. It’s well worth anyones times.
We are visiting Texans and this place is better than most Mexican restaurants! The food here is amazing and the service is even better! We were in town at San Francisco for only a few days and ended up coming back here over a couple of days time, which we did for no other restaurant.The people here are some of the best we have met and represent SF so well! Love this place!
Came here for my birthday and really enjoyed the experience!We got our own table in the back of the dining hall so it felt really like exclusive seating - and when you show up they always have complimentary chips and salsa which is super nice.Good:I enjoyed the margaritas here a lot and they were almost non-alcoholic tasting so it was a great taste.I loved the tacos here - the fish taco was the clear standpoint - a great mix of savory and just the right amount of crunch.Bad:I thought that the huevos rancheros weren't that special - it was a little dry actually.There was also a beef stew that I felt was a bit too spicy.Overall a fun birthday brunch experience, maybe next time I'll try the bottomless experience.
We joined friends for a great dinner at this place. Their sangria was good. And the tacos were delicious. Service was excellent.
If you love authentic Mexican cuisine food, you gotta come here! Searched Mexican restaurants on Yelp and came across Don Pistos, the name of the business caught my attention. Yelp had good reviews so we thought to give it a try. Upon arrival we were greeted by young lady (didn't get her name) who was very friendly and sat us right away. As she gave us our menus she told us their food and drink recommendations. We ordered a michelada, tortilla soup, shrimp tacos and quesa birria tacos. All so delish and fresh!
Nice Mexican restaurant . Had a great pitcher of strawberry margarita. Started with the ceviche of mahi that was to acidic with too much cilantro that made the dish a bit bitter. The main courses however were great . Really nice spicy shrimp tacos : great taco Al pastor ; very friendly staff
The food at Don Pisto’s was quite nice. The al pastor tacos were really good, although the batter on the baja fish tacos was not that crispy and they tasted quite oily. We had the queso fundido and fried chicken as starters. The queso fundido was good and was a big portion, but the tortillas it came with were really greasy. The fried chicken had a delicious crispy coating, but the habanero dipping sauce was way too spicy and made it unpleasant. The service was really lacking, which was the biggest disappointment. They didn’t clear our starter plates when they brought our tacos so we didn’t have much room on the table. Once we’d finished our meal no one came over to clear the table or check on us, and there were only 2 other tables with customers in the restaurant. Overall it was a really average experience.
I’m not sure what it is about the oil here, but something seems to cause excessive swelling, bloating… I’ve eaten here a few times, and I absolutely love the chips and salsa/Guacamole… but that being said it’s super hard on the body and I can only imagine it has to do with the deep fryer/oil…I try to stay away from places that fry their chips in the same oil that they fry their breaded items because I do notice a huge difference in how the body processes the food..I tried the fried chicken, it’s pretty delicious.I had the crispy shell tacos, the meat is well seasoned, had the ground beef and the chicken… the meal makes you feel heavy, not sure what’s up, but without the bloated feeling this place would be a 5 star.
Ceviche and the hibiscus margarita was delicious. Outdoor seatings and the staff is very nice too.
We held a small wedding reception at Don Pistos and it could not have gone better. The staff was patient and available while we figured out all the details of holding the party and even better during the party. They were so nice and accommodating to our needs. The food is fantastic. Everyone raved about the amazing food and drinks. We had a party of 30 and the room was a perfect size. I would not hesitate to hold another party there in the future.
