Father of three young daughters now and we still live in SF having moved from cow hollow to the inner Richmond. I will always hold a fond place in my heart for the Comet Club. Some of the best nights out of my life spent here and they have the best dance floor in SF.
Ordered takeout from Bissap Baobab for Takeout Tuesday - it did not disappoint! We got the Aloko and two orders of Chicken Yassa with a glass of the Tamarind juice. Bissap Baobab will be entered into our takeout rotation for sure. Excited to stop by and dine in once it's safe to do so!
This was some of the most amazing Senegalese food I have ever had. Yes, it was also my first time eating Senegalese food. No, it won't be my last. We ordered the yucca fries and were disappointed to hear they were sold out. However, we were extremely impressed by the plantains "fried to perfection" that they kindly replaced for us. We had the Mafe sauce and the Riz au Cari, both over the black eyed pea beignets. The beignets were out of this world!!! And the sauces made them even more amazing. The Mafe was nutty, creamy, and the perfect level of spicy. The riz au cari was vibrant, with lots of vegetables. We had one with couscous (amazing!) and the other with white rice (incredible!). Highly recommend this restaurant to anybody cat-sitting in SF for a week. Delishhhh
Step back in time at the Comet Club. This place has been around longer than most of the patrons that visit. Good part is the owner while keeping the old style vibe has updated with new upholstery and resurfacing of the bar. Cocktails are good, service is OK, but nobody is going to a bar for service. Surrounded by newer and more upscale places, the comet club is worth a try for its more comfortable and laid back bar experience.
Great spot! very friendly and lovely! You can go in and dance for free without getting charged! the atmosphere is so nice and super chill! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to travel to SF.
The bouncer was extremely rude and disrespectful. They have no standard policies and they make the customers pay for their negligence and lack of professionalism. Never going back again.
I have had transformative experiences in this place. The drinks are drinks. The songs are songs. But there’s more than meets the eye in the dark corners of this haunt.

Stopepd by last night with some friends to grab a quick drink. Have to admit had one of my worst experiences ever at a bar. I order a specific whiskey drink just to get something completely different with no whiskey taste to it but rather some kind of tequila taste to it. Tried to be civil and come up to bartender to have it remade and was willing to pay for it a second time. When one of waiters starts telling me to go sit back down and we dont care if you want order another one order it but we will not remake it. Simply put i believe employees either forgot what a service industry they work in. I will not be taking my money here again. Best of luck to the business and hopefully to anyone who goes there.
