We came here on a Sunday for traditional Dim Sum and were not disappointed! It was absolutely the best dim sum we have ever had. I'd recommend getting in line early. We arrived 20 minutes before opening and were about 25th in line.
Delicious food! To be honest, the dumplings I ate at this restaurant were the better I had ever eaten. Fast service. We were 9 people and everyone was served at the same time. The interior of the restaurant roomy and the big round tables are suitable for a lunch with several friends. However, we asked for some sauce twice and we are still waiting for it.
Been dining here for a decade, been happy for a decade. Everything is good and they have my favorite sticky rice. Bonus, they check your Vax card against your ID. Service is always great, whether from a cart or from the menu.
My husband and I love to go to the out-of-the-way, non-touristy places-- but were a little concerned during COVID to go to one of the smaller, older, more crowded Dim Sum restaurants. City View had good reviews and seemed more spacious. It was a great choice. Clean, spacious, calm atmosphere. DELICIOUS food. Friendly wait staff. Perfect!
Loved everything we tried! We had a bit of a wait to get a table, but not bad at all (considering the lunch rush and their popularity). Wished we could have gone back a second time!
Very good dim sum. Excellent soup dumplings and pork/shrimp shu mai. Very good Sichuan wontons in chili oil. Open only until 2:00 for dim sum.
TLDR: Fantastic taste, certain dishes are extraordinary but size of items makes the value not the greatest.City view is a great option for dim sum in the city.I'm giving it a 4 stars because in terms of value, it's not the best. Granted it's SF prices, the cost per size ratio isn't as worth it.However, the taste is very good, especially their Peking Duck Bao, pork siu mai, wok dishes like the eggplant & tofu.Also, their custard salted egg yolk bun is one of the best I've had in the city, if not the best.Would definitely come back for specific dishes, but would go elsewhere for others.
