Had to leave review #1000. This spot is a must for all beer lovers. The new location is great and staff is always nice and knowledgeable. Plus they do a triple IPA event every year. That always gets me hyped!
Asked for a taste of a beer before ordering and was told no tastes given for pours under 7oz. Really? Seems pretty stingy. I'm not asking for a huge amount. Just enough to know if the beer is up my alley
Great spot, great beer, great staff! Love the new restaurant as well! Amazing. This is an iconic SF beer bar and store and if you’re looking for the true craft beer experience you have to go here! Beautiful space as well with amazing art and just truly the best tap room and beer store you could imagine.
Used to be amazing but, post-pandemic, some of their bartenders have treated us really aggressively. Like really nasty folks. No idea what that's about but it sucked.Topping it off, the bartender brought us our bill without an itemized receipt. I ran some mental math and found that she had over charged us by roughly $30.It was a ridiculous experience and we left early to go to another bar. I miss what this place used to be. But this is the third time we've had to deal with jerks at this place so enough is enough.
I just always want this place to be better. Some great interesting beers on tap, some duds. Some good food, some swings and misses.

Went to city beer Friday around 4p. Was worried it would be packed however quiet. My husband was searching for delicious beer and did a beer flight. He really enjoyed it. Added an order of fries which were piping hot, fresh, and yummy, I went for a Mexican bottle coke which really was fun since I wasn’t drinking. All the staff here are awesome and the beer to go is a vast variety of everything under the sun from many labels. Ok little bit of a sketchy neighborhood but I never felt unsafe, a must for a beer lover
Had a peanut butter porter here a few years ago that haunts my dreams because I can't find anything that compares. Solid spot!
