We thought this would be an authentic restaurant for Russian cuisine. We had the borcht which was basically tasteless. The chicken Kiev appeared to be a frozen entree heated in oven. It was a disappointing experience as we thought authentic Russian food would be served. There is no table service; one orders at the counter, gets own drinking water and waits for delivery of entree.
The food was good but not the service. The lady taking my order was a bit rude. And I will say some things aren't authentic Russian dishes. Baked instead of fried like traditionally they would be and a few other things but that's fine. I make at home my own. I enjoyed their pastries and sweet cheese bread. Cookies are very small for $1.00, I feel they would he 25 cent each for the size.. maybe 50 cents.
I've had many bowls of borscht, and this one was phenomenal! Everything we got was supremely delicious and the kvas tasted crisp and homemade. Incredibly nice and friendly service.
Highly recommend this sweet Russian bakery! They have incredible rye bread freshly baked, and piroshki with mushrooms are super tasty. And be sure to try the restaurant food items too, the вареники with jam, and the борщ are both delicious!
Best bakery in San Francisco! They have the best French Toast in the Bay Area! The fresh pastries and sweets are to die for!!
- tried the napoleon, honey, and chocolate sour cream cake.- all of the cakes were so well made! i loved the napoleon cake the most but would recommend to try it fresh- be aware there was a long line up on a saturday afternoon
Did not expect to find Russian food in SF, happy I did find this place because the food was great, service nice and the prices are very okay for the amount of food we got.High recommend the pelmeni and the chicken soup!
Great little Russian bakery with very friendly staff. We used to buy their dark rye bread which is always good. Apple pie is awesome, as well as cheesecake and pirozhok with green onion and eggs.
Amazing food. Very nice Bakery. Very reasonable price for food. And they have large variety of items which is amazing ??
I love this place, all the pastries are really good and I like the sweet pantries the most!
