Food was excellent as was the service but the portions were small for what we paid.
This restaurant is the perfect example of a restaurant that just doesn’t take pride in their craft. This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had in San Francisco. First, the place wasn’t clean at all, the workers kept shouting at each other in Chinese. We had no idea what they were so excited about. My wife ordered ice tea and it tasted like cigarettes… That was no exaggeration. I even tasted it because there was no way that I would ever believe tea could ever be that bad…It was that bad… When we told the waiter, he said it was Thai tea and that is how it tastes… For the price, the serving sizes were tiny… I ordered some dim sum pork rolls and they were so old that you could taste the bread turning bad. The rest of the food was OK at best. They charged us a $17 tip plus a “City Surcharge” of 10% and said that, “It changes daily”. These people are nothing short of crooks. I could NEVER recommend this place even if it were the last restaurant in China Town…
my friend insisted to sit outside, how bad can it be if its survived so long. Bad. Sloppy lazy sticky stirfrys, dry tastless peking duck, silly prices . service quite nice but just totally unnecessary to deal with their tourist nonsense. Shame really as it could easily be so good
By far the best experience I've had in China Town. If you are visiting this is the place to eat. Black pepper beef was flavorful and delicious. Dim sum dishes which were crispy shrimp and pork dumplings both fresh clearly hand made and delicious. Restaurant atmosphere is a little dated but you have a wonderful balcony you can sit on and overlook the street. The staff are amazing. They are welcoming, attentive, and very friendly. I will never eat anywhere else in Chinatown again!
The food was pretty tasty, and I had a good customer service regardless of the busy time I was there, it was in the Chinese New Year night! ?
As we wandered through Chinatown we were looking for something to eat for dinner but some places were closed as it was the end of the work day and others seemed to have succumbed to COVID and closed. A lady was giving out promotional advertising and so we finally decided to go as nothing else planned out. However we had a lovely dinner and the food was good. They were fast and very pleasant. We had Beef with Broccoli and Gen Tso Chicken with rice. That was enough for three of us. I would say if you needed a place to eat this is a good option.
It's overwhelming to know where to eat in Chinatown with so many options, the food was delicious! It was pricey though and you don't get much of it. The rooftop dining for lunch with a view of the city and Chinatown was super fun and unique. I had the chicken lo mein and the sesame chicken. Both were great. I added the crispy Hong Kong noodles to my lo mein (for an upcharge) and it was delicious. They also have really interesting black and white photos explaining the Chinese heritage within the restaurant. And it looks like it could host big groups!
Great place upstairs and the food was delicious. Sit outside on the balcony for excellent views.
TOURISTS SCAM! They will force you in. Food is overpriced and no flavor, portions are small and that charge for water. On the bill they included a high tip , when we decided to pay less that what they included , they stopped us and told us we had to pay the tip they put in the bill . I refused to pay and told them they I was paying for what they deserved. The portions were so small that at the end we were still hungry.
Try to get a seat outside so you can enjoy the view of Chinatown. We ordered Chow Mein and Black Pepper Beef. Small portion and pricey. But the food are delicious, great service and the view is great :)
