Friendly and knowledgeable service and very tasty food

The food, service, and atmosphere at Chao Pescao was absolutely great! The waiters were very attentive and the kitchen got our food out fast. It’s a beautiful restaurant and very clean. The drinks were also delicious; I recommend the passion fruit one. I got the pan de bistec and it was great! The only negative was the bathroom was out of order.

Great place to grab food and drinks with friends.

Great food. I came here again after experiencing my dish that I came here for and that is ajiaco. It's a soup that you have to try with tons of veggies. This time around, it was a bit more salty and the chicken was more tougher. The last time, it was just perfect in my mind. I have made it several times at home after experiencing this dish. We also got the steak arepa which isn't bad as well but I wished the steak was more rare as they used rib eye cap and that shouldn't be cooked well. Overall, great place to dine.

fun place- nice atmosphere. I just had some appetizers as it was happy hour and I wanted to try a few things..sangria not so great just red wine with fizzy water...so I asked for some orange juice in it. The empanadas filling were a miss..no really flavor in the shredded beef and chicken empanadas I ordered and the red salsa sauce it came with tasted like ketchup and was def from a can...but the one thing that won me over- the sizes were good and the prices great, the crust on the empanadas was among the best I have had with a cornmeal- very lite - I would go back but perhaps try something else.

Excellent, helpful service, metal straws (surprising big +, especially over paper straws), empanadas (beef, pork and chicken) were tasty and filling.

Quiet to moderate noise level for a Thursday dinner. This was an all senses experience. From the selection of the music (perfect level) when one first walks in (old school boleros for a romantic setting to Celia Cruz' masterful songs, to a modern touch). The food was high quality and quite varied to include a full range Latin(x) cuisine. The service was beyond exceptional (Mike provided us such a wonderful experience). I was transported to foreign lands with every dish, song, and the environment somehow provided a vintage to modern experience. I don't often repeat restaurants, but there are items on the menu that I just need to return; possibly more than once. This is a must experience in San Francisco. The drink menu is just as varied and exquisite. After speaking with team members, it's rather evident that the owner has put much effort into providing such an experience. He personally created the playlist. Congratulations to all team members for a perfectly executed beyond dining experience.

We made reservations for my birthday lunch. We were looking forward to a good gluten free meal. When we arrived Ian took care of us. Not only was the meal perfect but he remembered everything we asked for without having to write it down and delivered the perfect experience service. My parents don’t speak English and he even understood their requests. We will return because of his service alone. The food is a perfect bonus on top of that.

Loved everything😊 the food delicious, the ambiance awesome, the bartender Aron the best, the manager also friendly and accommodating. This is a gem. You will not be disappointed. Empanadas chicken or beef so much flavor but not overwhelming. The quinoa avocado salad just the right mix and balance.

Wow! What a hidden gem. Two Uber drivers had pointed this place out while driving past so we decided to give it a try. There wasn’t one thing we ordered that wasn’t delicious… but hands down the Beef Empanadas and the Bistec Arepas were to die for! We’ll definitely be back!
