One those forgettable dinners. I had started with the seafood chowder: hot, few clams, fewer mussels, broth had a good texture, but ultimately a bit flavorless dish. I then followed with prawns masala with farro, cauliflower, and squash prepared like a paella. It tasted like a mash of overcooked starches (along with overcooked prawns), and I didn't finish the dish. My companion started with the 3 crab croquettes and finished one of them and said the aioli was too sweet. He also had the mountain of fries, which look an unappetizing stacked in the form of a pyramid. They were cold upon reaching the table so he nibbled but didn't finish the fries. For the entree he had the salmon and liked it. He thought it was prepared well (not overcooked) and tasted fine. We passed on dessert. The wait staff was good and attentive without being overbearing. The choice of table (my fault) was the worst possible location - I didn't pay attention as we were seated. My first visit in a number of years. I don't think I've missed anything.
Great outdoor patio space and fresh seafood.
I have always loved Catch. The food is consistently good, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is very comfortable.
Mussels and french fries in cream sauce is quite good
Catch is as good as ever, if not better. We had the Fried Calamari, Rock Shrimp, Rock Cod appetizer, which was light and flavorful (not greasy and heavy as is so commonly encountered). The paella style Prawn Masala and the Grilled Seafood Mixed Grill were excellent. Portions are generous. Service was welcoming and attentive. This place is a class act in the Castro neighborhood.
Very enjoyable evening!
Good the place is still there. Like it for years! The quality is as high as ever!
Excellent cuisine. Loved the ginger mint meatballs. The special was halibut and it was scrumptous. The wait staff was great. Loved everything. It is pricey, but worth every cent.
The place was quite for a Sunday brunch. The staff was really nice. The food was good, had the artichokes, the seafood stew/Cioppino and the Cesar salad. Everything was good the only thing I would say is maybe the tables, menus and glass on the balcony could be cleaned, they were all a little dirty. It was the end of brunch and they started closing up the parklets and outside seating which was a little uncalled for, in my onion they should wait until brunch is over before they cleaned up. We will be back, again everyone was really nice and the food was good/great.
Wonderful service and delicious food! Alberto and Chef Jeremiah really made us and our friends feel very special.
