We went to Baoz yesterday for an early dinner. We had eaten baos (open face) when we visited New York a few months ago and had been looking for a place that had them in the Bay Area, so when we found Baoz online we were really excited. We tried 4 different kinds, the fresh ahi bao, the Korean chicken bao, the duck bao, and the sauté shrimp bao. They were all absolutely delicious, and our favorites were the ahi and Korean chicken. The baos were colorful and beautiful, and tasted as good as they looked. The bun part was fluffy and light as air. And each of the different fillings had distinctly different flavors and textures. Can’t wait to go back!
The bao are awesome … really light and fluffy … duck was standout for meat eaters and eggplant was a hit for the veg. Definitely adding it to our takeout circuit.
You must order online. I didn’t know this and rang the doorbell and they were kind enough to point this out to me.Friends and I ordered the Glazed Eggplant Rice Bowl, Braises Beef Bowl, and the Ahi Lovers Bowl (tuna). We all enjoyed our bowls and found them filling and satisfying. They packed the bowls well with cute identifying stickers on the outside of the bowl. They packed chopsticks and plenty of napkins for us as well. Our bowls were well made and prepared quickly. We didn’t try any of the baos, but would definitely go back and try.If you provide a phone number, they will text you when your order is ready to be picked up.
Delicious!! The buns were fluffy and so good. Meat was well cooked and the sauce was super tasty. Highly recommend. Will definitely order again!
Their Ahí Tuna Bao is always so fresh with a hint of spicy from the jalapeño slices. And my favorite dessert is their banana custard bao the, bao is soo fluffy and soft. Both are a must try.
The most pillow soft Baos I have had in the Bay! I had the ahi tuna bao and ahi tuna bowl and not only were they beautiful to look at, they were also so delicious to eat. The chicken gyoza were incredible with a side of ponzu sauce and the Nutella bao was a great way to end the meal. Really happy I found this family owned business- will absolutely be back for more!
Cool little ghost kitchen located in an office park! Reminded me of BAOHAUS (NYC). I got the following:1. Pork Belly (?- easily the best flavor)2. Braised Beef3. Korean Chicken (absolutely loved this one as well)4. Nutella - thought the Bao could’ve been a little bit softer, but also goodOverall- rounding from a 4.55—> 5 because this place absolutely deserves it. Best of luck to this up and coming place- we’ll be back soon!
The best baoz in bay area! My favorites are the shrimp and Korean chicken bao.
BAOZ was pretty disappointing. First off, it is a ghost kitchen, which threw me off (Google Maps should have some notation for that). I had to go to their website to place my takeout order. The food was good to meh. The Korean chicken bao was the best: plenty of filling and it was tasty. The duck bao was tasty, but really small. I expect more for $6.50 (most expensive of the bao options). The waffle fries were the most disappointing: I got some meh curly fries and none of the promised spicy mayo. I would not have ordered this if I had known I wouldn’t actually get waffle fries (which I was craving).Overall, no real reason to return/reorder.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our lunch from BAOZ today! Our favorite was the sauté shrimp bao ? We’ll be back for more!
