The biggest reason to come here is the lovely patio/garden! The luna was pretty good, and the macchiato was certainly good enough
Dope experience!Satisfaction guaranteed here. I live far, but this was totally worth the 1 hr drive up north. My friend and I were both delighted from beginning to end. The whole experience is just mind blowing and would definitely recommend. Can't wait to go back as they change their menu.PS: they can accommodate the main dietary restrictions (vegans, pescatarians...)
Chef Mike is phenomenal and his dishes are a delightful and beautifully presented delicious experience. My spouse and I have dined with Anomaly many times and we love the food more each time! The Anomaly team is amazing, friendly, and exceptionally eager to please as well as help with any reasonable accommodations one might need if communicated with your reservation -- I've got hip and mobility issues and the Anomaly team has always made sure my seat had a little extra padding so that I'd be able to enjoy the full duration of the dining experience without discomfort! 11/10 <3
Solid tasting menu, but I didn't leave feeling full or as satisfied compared to other tasting menus. But there so much potential in further development with the chef's flavors. Standout dish: Egg, sort of. This was a surprise worth keeping on the menu.
We LOVED our experience at Anomaly. Every single course was delicious, innovative, and beautifully presented. The carrot soup in particular really blew us away — the hot soup combined with the freeze dried (?) sumac snow was just divine. We haven’t seen much molecular gastronomy in SF, so it was super exciting to see Anomaly really embrace that while still letting the ingredients and flavors shine. Truly one of the best fine dining experiences we’ve had in SF. We cannot wait to come back!!
We had an amazing experience for an early Valentines dinner. The space was industrial yet comfortable and service was personable. It felt like you got to know the team. The dishes themselves were creative and for the most part excellent. To start we had a crispy fish chip with a smokey dollop of cream. Next was the “Egg”, a light and fluffy whipped potato with crisps on bottom. We enjoyed the following tomatoe soup for its fun presentation with liquid nitrogen as well as evolving taste/texture as the “snow” thawed. The following beet course was quite refreshing and a good palette cleanser. The petrale sole in was succulent and paired with a nice light sauce. However, our favorite main course was the shortrib with confit mushroom. It was slow cooked until quite tender and packed some flavor. The desserts were excellent as well. I’d definitely come back here or wherever else the team may be cooking next.
Made reservations on stock for my hubby’s birthday and it was a great experience! We loved the creative menu and different flavors and textures. Each dish is beautifully plated. The wines were delectable. All the staff were kind and knowledgeable. Matt took great care of us!\\n\\nHighly recommend you give this place a try for a nice dinner and experience. They are a popup now located in the old Serpentine restaurant but I hear they’ll be moving into a new location soon.
We had an excellent dinner in a very COVID safe environment. Every course was outstanding both in flavor and creativity. Chef showed amazing talent and wonderful wait staff. Can’t wait for their permanent residence!
Highly recommend and will go back.Love how creamy and perfectly flavored, mixture of various culinary techniques, and the portion.I liked every dish, and the 72 hour slow- cooked short ribs and deserts were some if my favorites of the just.
The restaurant is definitely delivering more for the price and I'm selfishly hopeful that they keep it that way. The menu is experimental and I enjoyed such novelty more than the standard 1 Michelin places I've been to. It's American food with an Asian flare and rich in cream (warning for those with lactose intolerance). The portion is decent and I feel good after what feel like 7-8 small plates. Great starting point for a new team :).
