Went to Amanda Fuara for lunch today and overall it was a good experience. This is a Vegan, Vegetarian, and Plant Based restaurant with modest decor and Indian themed. I appreciate restaurants that cater exclusively to a particular crowd because all vegan options are few and far between. Central located on Market Street near City Hall, this restaurant is easily accessible via Bart and has both dine in and carry out options. I ordered a Beyond Meat burger and sweet potato fries. Overall, it wasn’t bad. The burger was drenched in BBQ, which overpowered what should have been crispy lettuce and other veggies. They also have freshly baked sweets with a healthy twist, if you have a sweet tooth. I definitely recommend trying to place out. On a critical note, I was given the wrong order, walked back to my office, only to have to turn around and go back. This was I accepted, especially when I consider the heat wave and the fact that the restaurant wasn’t busy. Mistakes happen, but, if I wasn’t in a position to come immediately back, my review would have been far more critical.
I've come here a handful of times now and have had good food and experience each time. The first time I went, I was warned by several friends who said they had a very strange and awkward experience with the servers, but I haven't experienced that myself. They are perhaps not the friendliest, but I get the feeling that they're going for a minimalistic and zen (maybe too zen?) level of interaction (i.e. they'll take your order and are helpful if you have questions or need suggestions, and they'll bring you your food, but they're not going to ask you how you are or anything like that).I've enjoyed all the food I've had from here. The Neatloaf (made vegan) was amazingly delicious especially with the mushroom gravy it comes with. There's a reason the Neatloaf Dinner and Neatloaf Sandwich are some of their best sellers. The vegan carne asada (soy-based) tacos were really good as well, and bigger than I expected (you get two). I got the tacos with a cup of dal as part of their lunch special, and the dal was lightly spiced and really good, too. Together, they made for a very filling lunch.Items that are vegan or that can be made vegan are clearly marked on the menu. I only wish it were easier to tell what's gluten-free, though. Only a handful of things are labeled on the menu as gluten-free, but the servers have been able to tell me what's gluten-free and what's not and what can be gluten-free.
Love love love the food, the drinks, the service, the ambience! First time here - had the nachos with veg chick'n, perfect balance juice, and lassi - all of which were incredible!! So glad we're within a mile from this place and can walk to it. Highly recommend for people who follow vegetarian and vegan diets!
*vegan chilaquiles verdes - good but vegan cheese wasn't melted*gingerbread pancakes- good but would be great with a vegan butter*gluten free vegan banana pancakes - 9.5/10 seriously some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Could have been just a little more cooked and used vegan butter would have been amazing* Mushroom and Caramelized Onion Ravioli - goodWould be amazing to see this place go fully vegan someday!
Amazing vegan/vegetarian food! It is rare that there is a whole menu dedicated to vegan food! I had the samosa dinner and my husband had the Neatloaf. We also had a piece of the vegan peanut butter chocolate cake and it was the best vegan cake I have ever had!!
One of the three very often visited restaurants during my stay in SF. There weren't too many good keto options, but I went with the enchanted garden salad with olive oil nearly every time and enjoyed it every time. Lovely feel with some fresh flowers on the table as a nice touch.
Best vegetarian food in the city. I am not vegetarian but I do love their brunch! Their egg benedicts are very tasty and their banana pancakes are delicious. Service is always pleasant. The place is small and they don't have that many tables. Parking can be challenging since the restaurant is near city hall. I do love coming here with my partner to eat.
Restaurant offering vegan and vegetarian food. There were a lot of different different options and types of food ranging from sandwiches to entrees and desserts. There were lots of cakes too!I had a salad with add on tofu with the lemon tahini dressing which was quite filling. It’s simple food but feels fresh and healthy. The smoothie was too sweet I found but tasted good as well.Service was friendly enough and the dining area was clean and had good distanciation. The restaurant is associated with a guru so there’s a spiritual aura to it with spiritual music - can be either off putting or calming depending on how you feel!
i got the chicken pesto wrap made vegan and it was SO AMAZING like my expectations were extremely exceeded. i cannot explain how much i enjoyed eating that wrap. also it was so large and worth the money. i didn’t take any pictures because it was gone within seconds of receiving it
Very poor service and food was not good at all. . Server never refilled our water, never asked if we want anything. I requested food without onion garlic which clearly they couldn't accommodate, said they can make me nachos without salsa, and when they gave us food it was only cheese and chips, it said nachos comes with freshly made guacamole, how much effort does it take to make guacamole without onion. They messed my partners order as well and charged us full price for removing the key elements of the food.Imagine such a service on a weekday during non busy hours, Never coming back again. Save your money and better eat elsewhere.
