First time there, had to have the Chefâs table. Best filet ever.
All the foods are not impressed and pricey. It used to my one of favorite place but not anymore. We wonât go here again
Alexanderâs Steakhouse is a restaurant for special occasions. We enjoyed attentive service from our personable waiter, Ruben, and from the assistant waitstaff and sommelier. The SOMA branch of Alexanderâs offers an a la carte menu, with an entire section devoted to Wagyu steaks. They also offer two tasting menu options, one called âChefâs Tastingâ and the other, âChefâs Hitachiâ. The Chefâs Tasting menu we chose consisted of seven courses with small, but artfully prepared dishes. Our Chefâs Tasting menu courses included a scallion pancake; Kanpachi, a sashimi prepared with cauliflower and watermelon relish; English peas with Wagyu Canadian bacon; abalone with a creamy clam chowder base; Wagyu Tataki; filet mignon, which is upgradable at additional cost either to a ribeye steak or to a top-notch Wagyu cut; and, for dessert, a toffee pudding with olive oil ice cream. In addition to our Chefâs Tasting menu plates, the staff served several complimentary bonus dishes. Upon arrival, the receptionist offered me a refreshing glass of juice consisting of a mixture of tropical fruits. When we mentioned one of our guests was having a special birthday, they brought out a glass of sparkling white wine for each of us to toast our guest. The waiters preceded the tasting menu with an amuse bouche from the chef. Before dessert, we were served a refreshing sorbet, followed by a small cake with candle for our birthday guest . After dessert, the waitstaff presented us with a plate of homemade confections. And, as we were about to leave, the staff gave each of us a gift bag with several treats from Alexanderâs kitchen, including home-baked madeleines. From Alexanderâs extensive wine list, one of the wine enthusiasts in our group selected a 2009 Rivale Rosso Toscana that was a sublime accompaniment to several beef dishes in the tasting menu.
We enjoyed our meal, everything was delicious! Great service.
The place to impress your friend(s)! It's an experience to be remembered!
Wonderful dining experience. Celebrated our Anniversary. Food ambiance and staff were outstanding.
Food was overpriced for the quality and the staff seemed very stiff. It was like they were trying to hard to be an excellent place.
When I think of Alexanderâs Steakhouse, two descriptors come to mine: exquisite and superb. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like kings. The hostess presented us with a lovely mocktail and fresh towels. And i have to give a shout out to our waitress: she was the bomb! Super attentive and kind from the get go; i have two allergies and i told her and she LISTENED. Food was justâ¦wow, amaze. Was it pricey? Hell yeah. Was it worth it? Hell yeah again. Also fantastic cosmos!
I had bn looking forward to visit again Honestly it's so gourmet the portions are ridiculously small for the price ypu can even enjoy or share The beet plate ridiculously small the octopus same 3 little cut piece 2 strawberries ð crazy small I just can't say enough of how disappointed we were specifically celebrating my husband's 84th bday not a good experience at all
Always a tradition for me and my friend to come here near my birthday. Their steaks are wonderful (especially the wagyu) and I absolutely adore their desserts that I ordered at least 3 and various types of sorbet/ice cream. They're always willing to customize requests with no problems. Also, their bread is free!! and they give you complimentary dessert for your special occasion :)
