Great place to see bands up close. The staff is friendly, security is professional and the drinks are quick to be filled. The best part is the music is not blaring. You actually leave without ringing ears. Dance floor is large and not sticky.
What a fun place! The bar has fair priced drinks, the bartenders and door guys are all super friendly. I loved the stage here because it's low to the dance floor so it made the concert so personal. I would go to another show here in a heart beat.
We watched legendary guitarist Javier Batiz, who inspired Carlos Santana... plus the most Amazing band Sol Sacrifice who opened for him...Wow Ssssoooo Awesome. I haven't danced or percussed like that in years. This Event supported deported Veterans who served in our American military, fought for our freedom and were summarily dismissed and deported after their loyal service.
One of the best spots in SD for live music! The BANYAN - Cheap Skates - Koonda Holaa show was of the hook for a Wednesday Night! Came in from Denver for the Show and you did not disappoint! Hope to see you again soon!
Energy in this place was electric. Throw back vibe to something of the early 90s. Staff is dope and great drink prices.
So, I'm newish here in SD metro... And I needed a safe, fun place to make as my anchor for bar/club outings. Ocean Beach's, "Winston's" was the right choice. Friendly, but professional, staff. Different music every night. That's all I got. See you there.
One of the best venues I've ever been too- drinks are $$$$$ but you can stand 4 feet away from any main act. Love this place
I think San Diego is great in general and with the friendliest folks ever! Case in point the doorman (i think Chris it was) who was a friendly face on a hard day at work. Reggea wednesday night they had SKatalites performing... nice audio sound system too, safe for ones ears!! Def coming back!!!
