Our room was fantastic. Loved the decor, very spacious and trendily decorated. We had a deluxe corner room which was super spacious. The free water bottles in the room was a nice touch. Great location right in the middle of the gaslamp quarter with all of the bars and restaurants near by. The restaurant was only open for breakfast a few days a week, none of which were while we were there, which was a bit of a disappointment but there are plenty of options nearby. The pool was loveky, although we struggled to get a chair or bed on a couple of occassions. Cabanas are available to rent but we considered them over-priced. The only bar was by the pool which closed quite early. You're allowed to sit by the pool after the bar has closed, which is nice on a summer's evening but you're not allowed to take your own alcohol even after the bar has closed. We hadn't seen the sign stating this and we got shouted at when we went to open a bottle of wine. That was the only major disappointment of our stay

Everything from parking valets to check-in, were great. Pool-side service was fantastic. Pool level was a great addition to sit and enjoy conversations with family. Room comfortable and quiet. Shocked at parking and morning coffee downstair near elevator being, let's say close to outrageous. I guess those are the prices of San Diego and great climate/weather. You can choose to park off site a few blocks away. We did that, off-site parking, on a previous trip. Quite a hassle, they know it, thus the tab. Coffee on the other hand, come on, good will with something like that goes thousands of miles. On site breakfast restaurant was the same way. Don't bother. Several breakfast places are very close, great food and well worth the prices which were reasonable. Two are across the street, literally. Google them. They were great. I'll probably return with my eyes more open, especially if we fly in and don't drive. Great location for Padres game, which, by the way, we didn't go this time, but have, and it is great fun, great ballpark. Lastly, the Solamar is, for us, a great value compared to the large chains within the District. My son we staying a few blocks away and we compared costs, features. I do recommend this place.

We have stayed here recently for a short visit to San Diego. The hotel is located in the heart of the gaslamp area and easily accessible to a number of attractions, bars and restaurants. The rooms are large and spacious and very clean. The only downside is the cost of the parking for me. 55 dollars for 24 hours valet parking which is expensive in my opinion. I also asked for champagne on arrival which wasn’t available, the hotel sent me a message a few days before arrival to see if I wanted to add on any extras to the booking. I selected champagne on arrival to surprise my wife but we didn’t get it when we checked in. Overall though a really nice hotel and great location. I would maybe stay again if I didn’t have a car with me.

I loved my room, it was clean and stylish, the bed was super comfortable. I enjoyed relaxing at the pool, and the service from all the staff was great. The location was great, CVS and restaurants were all in walking distance. Thank you!

My 4 day stay was great! Check-in and check-out was easy. Staff was very friendly and offered recommendations for food. My room was spotless and very comfortable. I definitely recommend Solamar San Diego.

My stay was ok. Unfortunately, there was a loud group staying nextdoor the first night. I also had a room facing the pool. Had to put up with the music playing until 9:00PM. Wish I had been warned about this. The people were nice. The room was a good size. Glad for the filtered water station I could fill my bottles at in the exercise room.

I will say the bed was super comfortable, some of the best sleep I have had! WE really loved the size of the room, the pool area, and the friendly staff~! It was a short walk to the convention center, which is why we were there! Definitely recommend.

Solomar was a beautiful hotel, located next to the stadium. The staff was wonderful and the pool was fun. Marisol was particularly helpful. They also gave us a daily $10 credit for beverage and food. We were also surprised to have complimentary weather bottles in our room. I will definitely return.

Clean, great service. 4 blocks from convention Center, super easy walk. Excellent location to many great restaurants. Great pool. Would recommend for future stays. Not to fancy but laid back and fin for sure.

Great pool and a good coffee station in the morning. They also had a water station. Lobby was very nice and had ample setting. The hotel is in a perfect spot to attend a conference or just coming for a visit. It is close to everything.
