We came here to try something new in San Diego and try to stay away from the tourist area. I ordered the simple breakfast and some pancakes, my wife had the chilaquiles plate. The simple breakfast was very good, over easy eggs were perfect, country potatoes a bit salty but good. I had a taste out of my wife's chilaquiles, they were a bit sour to the taste. I never had chilaquiles with paprika, but in my opinion, there is no need to be creative with chilaquiles, keep it simple with the salsa. Now here comes the part that ruined my food, the pancakes were badly burned, and when I was eating it, I had this horrible taste, it tasted as if I had a full spoon of salt ?. They used baking soda to make the pancakes fluffy, but it was too much. That is why I have to give them a 2 stars.
Fantastic brunch. The baked eggs were a flavorful shakshuka style dish with Moroccan spice, tomatoes, beans, and onions and a wonderful tzatziki. Big enough to share. The pancakes and fried chicken were a fun spin on the southern tradition of chicken and waffles. The pancakes were fluffy and light with a wonderful vanilla flavor that made syrup unnecessary. The crispy chicken bites were complemented by a spicy chutney. Service was top notch, very attentive and personable and provided excellent recommendations.

Great share plates. Order about two per person.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in San Diego. Their menu and wine selection make it an excellent choice for dinner. Recommended! ?
Great restaurant for small plates with plenty of vegetarian options! Plenty of heating lamps for outside. We ordered the beets, carrots, grilled octopus, and glazed duck. All were incredible, though the grilled octopus dish had some really salty sauce/sides.
I went here cz I heard so much about their brunch and honestly, they did not disappoint. I loveddddd their french toast. The bread was soft on the inside and crispy outside the maple syrup was so flavorful and the smoky taste of the bread was everything. I think I will go back for their french toast. The other dishes were okay but they did not blow my mind as their french toast
Pancake and fried chicken is really good! the pancakes are fluffy and the fried chicken is more like smaller nuggets. They were juicy and flavorful tho
Good food! The menu is mostly made of small plates but also made to share. Recommend getting 4-6 plates for a party of 4. Definitely try the Angnoletti, lamb shoulder and swordfish belly!!;
I truly wanted to like Trust - I had been looking for good New American food for some time. However, I found the food to be quite salty. It's a shame because the flavors were otherwise good, but the salt prevented us from appreciating any of the 3 dishes we ordered. Our lamb dish was also a bit overcooked which further detracted from its flavor.For any run-of-the-mill restaurant those might not be great flaws. When Trust charges $20-$30 for appetizer-sized portions, however, those dishes need to be quite dialed-in. The highlight of our visit was our bartender, Anthony, whose service and drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, the food simply did not deliver.
