We were there for our 13th anniversary and had a wonderful time. We received food and wine recommendations from the very talented Chef/Owner personally at our table and enjoyed an exquisite meal with romantic music (great sax player was there setting a very romantic mood). Weâll be back! Thank you everyone at The Red Door for an amazing anniversary!

We eat out a lot, and we appreciate really good cooking. We read about The Red Door and were really looking forward to our evening. The meal and service did not disappoint! Chef Luciano Cibelli greeted us at the table and asked if this was our first time at his restaurant (it was), and he made some recommendations and described the care in which the ingredients were selected and how everything is handmade on site. For appetizers, we chose: the Flatbread, which is so perfect that it transported us back to Italy; the Butternut Brie, an unexpectedly rich and savory experience with perfectly toasted crostini; and Roasted Beets and Burrata (made there), which offered a light balance to the other apps. Our party of three ordered the Chateaubriand to share for the main course. This was excellent - cooked to perfection, served with succulent roasted potatoes, tossed with arugula, and served with a rich demi-glace. Words can't describe how good this meal was. We will be back, and we're thrilled to add this restaurant to our personal TOP FIVE in San Diego. Do not miss it.
We have been to the Red Door several times and it never disappoints! I did enjoy the Beef Wellington for the first time and it was outstanding. The owner, Luciano, is always so gracious as he visits from table to table making each guest feel special and welcome!
Delicious!! The sauce on the bucatini and the pesto on the risotto were amazing!! Apps, entrees, desserts, wine fantastic and server very professional and pleasant. Will go again soon!
All I can say is fabulous! We are visiting my daughter who is coming in from deployment and live in the New York City area. The food was absolutely spectacular! We ordered a P and Barada salad, shaved Brussel sprout appetizer, and an unreal pasta cooked perfectly with a simple tomato basal sauce. A touch of true class when the chef came over and introduced himself to all the tables. I would definitely go back and weâd like to visit again during the rest of our time.
Simply incredible. The ingredients were so high quality and put together in such a complimentary way. The dishes were so comforting and were perfectly aligned with the ambiance and atmosphere of the venue. The owner and chef was entirely immersed in his work and checked with his customers on their experience. One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Somehow homey and gourmet at the same time.
