My first time in San Diego for work. Decided to go out for a drink with my coworker since our server raved about this place. Ordered an Amaretto sour and they didn’t put a cherry in it how it’s supposed to come. Seeing the bartenders were slammed, my coworker grabbed a drink skewer and put a cherry in my drink. The bartender next to us made a huge scene to which we apologized at least 5 times for. We even offered to pay for the $.35 cherry that normally comes with the drink. He wouldn’t let it go and continued to yell and make a scene. We decided to not even have our drinks even though we paid for them and left without getting to experience this highly raved about bar. I’ve worked in the bar/restaurant industry opening numerous restaurants for 10+ years and I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life and would never recommend this place to anyone unless they want to be treated with no respect even after trying to be the bigger person and apologizing and trying to calm the bartender/situation down. This made the worst first impression of San Diego and will gladly never be back.
Had reservations on a Saturday night. We were seated quickly and were waited on within a few minutes. Drinks came pretty quickly and wait staff checked in with us often. It was an amazing setting. Beautiful view of the downtown skyline. There was a full bar and several tables, as well as a fire table. It was a little cool outside, but there was a heater so it was comfortable. Our table was covered but the tables on the perimeter were not covered and it sprinkled a bit. They had food, and a good selection of wine and beer, as well as some signature drinks. Prices were reasonable for a classy place. Although there was music, we were still able to have a conversation. Fun time!
Great roof top! I have no pictures, but added a video of the views. The people who worked there were very nice and attentive. Great photo-op near the elevator where it says "The Nolen". I would absolutely come here again. They had plenty of drink choices, my favorite was the cocktail called the Nolen Smash. It wasn't too crowded when I went around 10pm, plenty of seating available & a relaxing atmosphere.
Came here at night for a date night. The drinks were great, I didn't have high expectations for food but despite the small menu, the food was also great. After a couple drinks we accidentally broke a glass. The staff acted very cool and professional about it and cleaned it up. Would definitely come here again. The scenery and vibe is 10/10.
It was a hip spot, beautiful view @ good food & drinks. Music was a bit too loud for our liking & menu could have been more extensive but was still a great experience!
We came during the day and we had a really great time. The atmosphere is awesome and it has an amazing view of the city. The drinks were very good but it is for sure not a cheap place to eat or drink.
The atmosphere is good. The bartenders are rude. The tips include so that explains the attitude from the bartenders. The view is good on the food side so if you Care for a view make a reservation. Honestly it's over rated find somewhere else....
I'm not a big whiskey/bourbon drinker at all. To be honest, I hate it lol.But I can definitely say their old fashion is on point and really good. For a guy that never drinks them, I got 2!
Very beautiful views of the downtown San Diego area. The Nolan has an rooftop Romantic area to enjoy with that someone special or just to meet up with friends.
I love this rooftop in San Diego! It’s super cute for brunch (only Sunday mornings) and also super elegant for dinner. The staff is always very friendly. It has really nice city views, you feel like you’re in vacation. The food is Yummy and it was 100% instagramable for my IG @lublyyally.
