We are new to the area and we were excited to find a Black owned restaurant. But it was extremely disappointing. My sister ordered some food for herself and my wife and I a few days ago on Doordash...the ladies ordered grandmas gumbo and I ordered jambalaya. The seasonings were extremely bland and didn't taste like authentic soul food whatsoever. My wife said the sausages and chicken in her gumbo were tough to chew (not to mention there were only two small pieces of sausage inside, smh). Plus, she added crab to her gumbo and was given scraps of crab with hardly any meat inside. Nothing like the photos you are shown here on Google. I know everyone has an off day but I don't think we'll be eating from here again. If this establishment is really Black owned, they've definitely tailored their seasonings and cooking styles to fit the demographic surrounding the area. I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here.
Absolutely amazing taste with huge portion size and decent price! Ordering website was easy to use and the communication was great. Will definitely come back for it!
I ordered the the gumbo today and the greens it was so amazing! My friend had the jambalaya and Mac and cheese she was really impressed by the flavors how bomb they were. The people were also very polite and friendly.I recommend this spot highly!
I have been cooking almost every day for 2 yrs. I wanted a break.I bought the Yaya gumbo, a shrimp Po boy, red beans and rice, and 2 peach cobbler/tarts.My son, who is an insanely slow eater, killed the sandwich before I could blink. It must be outstanding because it can take him an hour to eat a taco. My gumbo was wonderful, just the right amount of heat. I admit that I have only had gumbo a few times, but this was the best one. I loved the okra in this dish. I'm saving the beans and rice for breakfast, however I tried a spoonful and it was perfection. I had to wait an hour or so before I could have the peach tart. I heated it up 350 for 15 mins in the oven. The crust was flakey and the perfect ratio of crust to peach filling. It was exactly what I was looking for. My husband and son also loved, and I mean loved the peach tart.Very easy to find, and very professional. My order was ready for pickup in 20 mins. Touch less pickup offered. Individual food clearly labeled.
Well, I was going to grill on the night I ordered, but this recipe came on the TV for Gumbo and I was pretty much redirected in another direction and found a little place called The Gumbo Pot. I went through my delivery service of choice and placed an order for three items:Gumbo Z'Herbs (Collard Greens, Turnip Greens, Mustard Greens, and Okra)Gumbo Ya-YaChicken CreoleI took a couple batches of photos here. The first are the "As Delivered" photos and the second is after I made it more presentable for a family dinner. You'll pretty much be able to look at them and figure out what is what so I'm not going to waste your time reading useless prattle. Now, the first thing I noticed was the fact that all containers were clearly labeled with what was inside. Not many do this, so that was quite appreciated on the entrees and if a person can't figure out rice...well...yeah. Speaking of Rice, this rice was beautifully cooked and kicked steamed rice from a Chinese place straight out of the ballpark! Awesome rice here. I used the Rice as a base for the Gumbo Ya-Ya as well as the Chicken Creole when I plated it (in the two black bowls. White is Gumbo Z'Herbs). It made an excellent base.Onto the Gumbo Ya-Ya... I thought this was pretty good! I don't know much about Gumbo, but I felt it was pretty good. I did find some Bay Leaves that weren't pulled out, so you might want to look out for those. Flavor wise though, I have no complaints and as long as you like that bit of slimy from the Okra, you are good to go here!Chicken Creole:This was amazing. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly, and I mean came apart with a fork perfect and flavorful. This will not disappoint and I suggest giving this dish a try!Gumbo Z'Herbs:I wasn't quite as thrilled as I expected with this one. Perhaps it is because I first had Collard Greens in Georgia? I don't know, but I'm not an expert on Collard Greens, so I can't provide much more information than how I felt about them. The vinegar was a bit strong, but they were cooked perfectly and well worth exploring!Final Verdict:The Gumbo Pot provided a great tasting meal and they offer a lot of options to choose from and I'm pretty sure you can find something for everyone on this menu. I know I had to make some serious choices and I will definitely be ordering again. Go see these folks or order and support small business!!

Love love love!!! We ordered Grandma’s Gumbo, Shrimp Etoufee, a Po’boy and Mac and Cheese. Loved the authentic flavor of the Gumbo, Etoufee and FRESH shrimp along with the Mac n cheese which was light, creamy and amazing!
The seafood creole is delicious and the Z'herb is good enough to be a main course!
Excelent food! Something different to test. Totally recommended.
I had a great experience with this place and the food is delicious. I’ll be going back to try other dishes
